I have been seeing some beautiful talent and techniques on social media that is just incredible. My tip today is simple (probably not as common) I learned it from @mosalama23 many years ago and have been using it ever since for both autogenous tissue and allografts. I use a blunt instrument to push the graft through one end and an explorer to pull through the other. Its usually harder when the recessions are shallow or the tissue is thin, but has been a consistent method for... me that both saves time and allows me to really position my graft exactly where I want around the teeth. Would love to know your thoughts and also what do you do when you inadvertently cut the papilla while youre tunneling. Do you just suture it back? Does it heal the same? Free gingival grafts definitely still serve a very important function in periodontal plastic procedures. Augmenting the width of keratinized tissue to me is actually more important than root coverage alone.
