It's Bandcamp Friday....what does that mean? Every penny goes to the artists... So please help support our artists by picking up one, or two, or all of our albums in our catalogue.... In honour of John Coltrane on his actual birthday, this event will premiere an innovative cross-cultural suite of Coltrane’s music, entitled, Dusk-Dawn conceived by Jonathan and Andrew Kay, and featuring Pat LaBarbera & Roberto Occhipinti. This will be a contemplative journey exploring the psycho-spiritual symbology of dusk and dawn as sound-worlds which feature an ensemble of saxophone trio, bass and traditional instruments from India, China, and Japan. Jonathan and Andrew K...ay will also facilitate a live conversation with Pat LaBarbera, world-renowned saxophonist and Coltrane expert, which will trace the history of John Coltrane’s engagement with world music cultures and how he innovatively folded them into his own musical journey. From here the discussion will turn to Coltrane’s influence on the emergence of global music and the contemporary horizon of this legacy. There will be a question and answer period with Pat LaBarbera to conclude the event. Pat Labarbera: tenor & soprano saxophones Roberto Occhipinti: upright bass Jonathan Kay: soprano & tenor saxophone, esraj (21-stringed Indian bowed instrument), shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) Andrew Kay: alto saxophone, Himalayan singing bowls, guzheng, & percussion

In light of the current events surrounding the murder of George Floyd, the peaceful anti-racist protests across the USA, here in Toronto, and around the globe, we recognize the systemic racism and violence against people of colour that exists and strive to be an organization that stands up for the equal rights of all people....so in this important moment in history, we stand up for the lives of Black and Indigenous people. Today, Bandcamp is waiving their share from sales. To...day, we will be donating all sales to Black Lives Matter - Toronto Please visit our Bandcamp page to see all of our artists and visit their page to view albums. https://monsoon-music.bandcamp.com/ Please take time to re-educate yourself, offer space, listen, stand up, stand in solidarity, and use whatever power and privilege you may have to actively change to our society for the better. Let us all support and offer gratitude to all those attending anti-racism protests and working to put an end to racism in our countries and around the world! Black Lives Matter
