There is absolutely nothing wrong with amp sims. Experience has shown me that I just get a better sound with a real mic on a real cab pushed by a real tube amp set to stun. And it doesn't get much more real than these three monoliths. On the bottom is the Ampeg VT-22, the amp of choice for QOTSA and Kyuss tone-wielder Josh Homme. On the top is a Mesa Mark IV-- the amp of choice for both Keith Richards and Lamb of God!... And in the middle, an original Sunn Model T.
