It’s beginning to look a lot like... Bon Soo at the Sault Museum!!! We’re excited to receive more snowflake donations to add to this new exhibit coming in February. Although starting tomorrow we are closed for a much needed holiday break after a long year, you can still bring us your snowflake donations by putting them in our mail slot at the front door of our building... A reminder that your snowflake can be any design and colour, write your name on it if you’d like or make yours unique so you can find it in the exhibit! We can’t wait to see you in the New Year Bon Soo

The 49th Regiment & the Early Days of Fort St. Joseph. In a previous post we looked at Bill Ross and how he made us familiar with the 49th Field Regiment Pipe & Drums. The 49th has a long-standing history to the area that dates back to the days of Fort St. Joseph before the War of 1812.
We’re so excited to be able to bring you some Holiday Cheer! Give us a call and order yours!
SAULT MUSEUM LEGO SET UPDATE Due to the unfortunate circumstances of COVID-19, there has been a delay in receiving parcels with the finishing touches of your building block sets. At this time we want to apologize that the building block sets will not arrive until after Christmas. We have created a "certificate" in lieu of the building block sets that were purchased as a gift to let them know that they will be receiving the Sault Museum Lego set as soon as it is finished!... The certificate is available for download on our website www.saultmuseum.ca Feel free to reach out with any further questions!

Women & the Sinter Plant during WW2. A small community was built around the sinter plant, of the Algoma Ore Properties, in the Wawa area, thusly named Sinterville. The plant was near the Wawa railway station on the A.C.R. Michipicoten branch line and was in operation just before the second world war. Though most of the workforce, being men, were involved with the war efforts, this plant continued its operation hiring women to fill the positions needed.
