Feeling Covid Fatigued? Do you need some help? During the past year, we’ve all reached the point where money is tight or our mental reserves are exhausted. Or both. COVID-19 has been a never-ending test, and we all need to help each other. The Nanton Lion Club applied for and have received government grant funding to help their community.... And, with the help of this fantastic service club and local businesses, they are introducing the Nanton Lions Club COVID-19 Social Support Program! Do you know of someone who needs help to buy groceries? Or do you? They can help. Do you need help picking up items from the pharmacy or something else in town? They can help. Or do you just need some help in getting a mental health break? If they can find a way to help you, they will. Just call Dana at (403)-336-9999 or email [email protected] Phase One is currently being rolled out! For more details on this and the next phase- go to http://bit.ly/LionsCOVID

This morning at 11 am! Coffee with Council is tomorrow. Important Information ... We need participation in this event! Please, if you have a question, please use the Microsoft Teams Q&A tool no downloads or logins required. Alternatively, if someone wants to phone in or join the online meeting temporarily to ask a specific question verbally, contact the [email protected] in advance and he will provide instructions. This is not just a ‘hang out session’, unfortunately. While we know some residents favour face-to-face or direct participation from a social media platform, COVID-19 and budgetary limits mean that those options are more challenging for us. We need participation in the form of people. Livestream link - https://bit.ly/NantonCoffeeDec https://facebook.com/events/s/coffee-with-council/1355417824802937/?ti=icl

More health measures will ease on Feb. 8 Recreation Children’s sport and performance activities are permitted if they are related to school activities, such as physical education classes. This will allow K-12 schools and post-secondary institutions to use off-site facilities to support curriculum-related educational activities.... Indoor fitness 1 on 1Only one-on-one training is permitted for indoor fitness activities (e.g. fitness in dance studios, training figure skating on ice, one-on-one lessons). 1 on 1 One-on-one sessions cannot interact with others and there must be a minimum of three metres distance between sessions in the same facility. Sessions have to be scheduled or by appointment. No drop-in for individuals or groups is allowed. No sports games, competitions, team practice, league play or group exercise of any kind. Trainers must be professional, certified and/or paid trainers who are providing active instruction and correction. Passive supervision of a physical activity is not considered training. Trainers should remain masked during the session; clients are not required to wear a mask while exercising. More than one trainer and client ‘pair’ are allowed into the facility, studio, rink, court, pool, ice surface, etc., as long as: Each trainer and client stays three metres away from all other trainers and clients at all times, including in entryways and exits. 1 on 1 Each trainer only interacts with their assigned client, and each client only interacts with their assigned trainer. No interaction between clients or between trainers is allowed. No ‘cycling through’ multiple trainers, as in circuit training.
