My Sabbatical in 2017 included the amazing experience of a visit to Mt. Sinai (and of course the journey through the Sinai Peninsula.) The journey was a bit of an adventure in itself. My companions and I stayed several nights at St. Catherine's monastery and we climbed the Holy Mountain to be at the summit at dawn. The climb was exhausting. Here are some of my pictures. Tomorrow many Churches will read of the encounter of Moses with God on Mount Sinai. Ex.24:17 Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.
