TWO STEPS FORWARD... Whew! It's been a tough summer. Between Covid-19 slowing our conventional chocolate business almost to a halt, and the smack-talk floating around on the Internet thanks to a shareholder intent in trying to squeeze me out of my company (which will never happen), things have been very stressful. I'm finally happy to be able to make some great announcements. First of all, Health Canada has reviewed our chocolate bar packaging safety tests, and has no iss...ue. YAY!!! Second of all, last week I spent the week playing forklift driver, moving a full shipping container of yet another shipment of 250,000 bar boxes in our warehouse. It was the first of a couple that we ordered in March. Now with a fully licensed, inspected, and compliant facility, a warehouse full of supplies, and a warehouse full of product ready to go out the door we're on the hunt for a cannabis company with an edibles sales license to act as our distributor. In the meantime, I want to thank all of our customers and crowdfunding shareholders for their patience while I navigate this little company through such a difficult time. You can rest, knowing that while so many businesses are folding in these crazy times Choklat is still here and still moving forward. BREAK OUT THE BUBBLY!!!! We just went through our first (quite grueling over 4 days) inspection with Health Canada at our edibles facility and received a "Compliant" rating. Being the first chocolate maker in Canada to go down this path, and pass our first inspection on the first pass is HUGE!!!!! Congrats to my team for doing such a great job!!! One more milestone is now in the rear view mirror.

And now for something new.... SALTED CARAMEL MILK CHOKLAT. Starting Monday we are sampling out a new product for feedback. The first 100 customers will get a FREE salted caramel milk choklat bar to provide feedback on. We think it's freaking amazing, but the real test will be you. Who's in?

Metal Detection In Chocolate... In the past couple of days there has been a lot of speculation with respect to requirements surrounding metal detectors in the chocolate making process. What is and isn't required? First of all, there is absolutely nothing mandated by either the CFIA or Health Canada with respect to requiring a metal detector in a production line. Here we grow again! While the crazy pandemic has gone our, our sales team has been hard at work getting us listed at Save On Foods! Our first displayer was placed in the Airdrie Southwest this week. It's in the floral department right by the front door, ready for you to pick up some for Mother's Day. We will keep you posted as we continue to roll out in more retail locations all over the province!

IT IS HAPPENING!! After years of planning, financial sacrifice, and regulatory hurdles we have gorgeous, perfectly infused dark Choklat bars coming from our molding plant. These bars are destined for Cannabis stores all over Alberta in the next couple of weeks. YAAAAHOOOO

Whew... 3:35am... It's time for bed! Being a trend setter makes for long days. During the day I get to oversee my staff at not one but TWO facilities while they work hard to make our cannabis infused sugar and chocolate in one location and all of our regular chocolate at another. Then at night I spend hour after hour writing the software that manages the business. Today was an 18 hour day, and at 8:00am I get to start it all over.

Hi Everyone. I just watched this on my Facebook feed and thought I would take a moment to share. On November 11th 2008, just two months after I opened my little chocolate shop for the first time, my Mother passed away from a very aggressive form of lung cancer. While the common thread of cancer resonated with me, what really had impact, and what really moved me was the last few phrases that Alex shared in this short video. "...If we take things one day at a time, we can ...accomplish anything..." For the past 12 years here at Choklat I have literally walked, talked, ate, slept, and breathed that philosophy. I have taken this business to places no other chocolatier in North America has gone, and in doing so there have been a lot of battles won and lost. There have been some incredibly trying times. Alex's words could not be more accurate. Whomever you are, wherever you are, make sure you celebrate your wins EVERY. SINGLE.
