Inglewood Antique Market is celebrating a big year this year - 25 years of being the gateway to the Headwaters region, and being one of the finest antique markets in Ontario. This year, those friendly faces that are synonymous with exceptional customer service and an uncanny knack of finding you just what you need, Annette and Phil, have decided th...at it's time for them to take some time for themselves, away from the Market. While the passing of the torch was not an easy decision, they are delighted that their customers and friends will continue to be well serviced under the new ownership. Effective June 1st, Jon Medley is taking over the Market. For years he's had a booth at Inglewood Antique Market, and he certainly knows the antique market as well as anyone, being the proprietor of Medley Auctions. As we wish Annette and Phil well in their next adventures, and our utmost thanks for being the most welcoming ambassadors to all things Headwaters, we also welcome Jon to the neighbourhood, knowing that legacy of Inglewood Antique Market will live for years to come under his stewardship. I need to rant. After a recent run of thefts, (thieves should rip off places like Walmart who are killing the world, not small businesses who struggle to survive btw), and a run of things that truly boggle my mind, this has finally triggered a response. Three examples shown here, an album, brand new and unopened, and someone feels the need to open it? Really? Were you curious to see if it actually was brand new? Then at $12, you don't buy it. Wow Second photo - a cloc...k with an unusual pendulum of string. You'd have to pull it pretty hard to break it. It's broken. The purpose of pulling it? Who knows. If you didn't understand it, you could have asked about it, i gladly would have explained how it worked to you. Seems simple to me. And lastly, is it really that hard to figure out how to put binoculars back into a case? Especially when they were in there correctly in the first place. (This happens a lot). Not a huge deal, just annoying. So, enlighten me. Is it stupidity? Ignorance? Just not giving 2 s....? I could go on with some other fine examples of brilliance (or lack of it), but i have vented. I feel better. Thanks for reading. Perhaps some of these people could have a little more respect and understanding of the amount of time, hard work and money that goes into operating a retail store which are slowly dying thanks largely to internet sales and high rent. Do we really want a world where the only place you can shop is Amazon?
