If you have produce from your plot to share, please put it in the donation bins at the greenhouse just before the pickup times. Food Bank pickups are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 11 and noon. Food should be washed and ready to use. Also, please don't donate food of a quality that you wouldn't use yourself.

RE: COVID-19. In order to keep our community garden as safe as possible, gardeners must follow these guidelines: Stay at the garden for the shortest amount of time possible. Do what is essential in your plot and then leave. Do not hang around or socialize. Give other gardeners plenty of space. Stay at least 2 metres away from any gardener you do not live with. Wear gloves the whole time you are at the garden and wash them when you get home. Wear gloves even when you op...en the padlocks. Bring your own tools from home if at all possible. Take your garbage home with you and dispose of it safely there. Do not leave garbage in the greenhouse bins. Do not expect to use the garden washroom. It will be locked so make other plans. See more

Spring registration is cancelled. Due to COVID-19 measures in our community, we are not able to accept new members this season after all. We know this is very sad news for those of you who hoped to get a plot and grow organic food this year. We are so sorry.

All members will receive information and a voting form through the email address they used at registration. Look for this email in your inbox around April 4, 2020.

At the beginning of October, the City’s fence was cut to gain access to our goat enclosure. The goats were found loose on the street early in the morning. Fortunately, the goat team leader was able to herd them back to safety and make arrangements with the farmer to take them back home the same day. We are saddened by this incident but thankful the goats did not come to harm.

The City of Abbotsford will be working on the lift station at the property where our community garden is located. For this reason the community garden will be closed all day on October 8, 2019. There will be a temporary lock on the gate which will be removed once the work is finished.

The Food Bank Bin will be open and checked until the end of September. If you still have extra produce from your plot after that date, we encourage you to take it to the Food Bank yourself. We'd hate to see good food in the compost bunker.

Wood chippings have been delivered to the parking lot. Gardeners may help themselves to use in their plot pathways as mulch. (Don't use outside of your plot, please.)
