In 2020, our goal was to increase the mini program. Thank you to all the new parents for your contribution to the club. Hopefully we will get to see all these future studs suit up together. Congratulations! #ARFC
Club Member of the Year Steph Wiebe. Steph put in tons of time to help the club have a successful season. Not only was she handling all VP duties on the exec, she also took care of all the registration issues for all of our club teams. She was always willing to help and was a major asset for the club last season. Thank you so much for all the work you did last season we could not thank you enough. Congratulations and best of luck on your pregnancy. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby
MVP Megan Chambers. Being an absolute force on the pitch offensively and defensively has earned this woman MVP. She makes HUGE hits and is a standout every single game. She is extremely hard working and is always there to support her teammates on the pitch. With ball in hand, she is tough to take down and usually ends up setting up one of her teammates for a try. Her skills and rugby knowledge make her a huge asset to the woman’s team. Meg was able to slide from back row to front row in many games seamlessly. Congratulations Meg. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #BornToRugby
Div 1 Best Back Connor Hunter. Connor’s ability to see space, put his teammates into space, kick for points, and command the team around the field made him an obvious choice for best back. There were many phenomenal try’s this season because of this guy and once in a while he made some nice tackles. Over the years, It has been a pleasure watching Connor grow from an obnoxious little twerp to the man he is now. Congratulations. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyclub #flyhalf #rugbygram #rugbyunion
Rookie of the Year Matt Turi. Right from the start of the season, Matt fit in well with the div 1 squad and made his presence known. His ability to hit lines at full pace gave the boys the forward momentum they needed game in and game out. Not only that, but this kid can finish and we were able to see him score try after try. A very bright future ahead for this young lad. Congratulations Matt! #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyClub #Finisher

A great human being and Most Improved Albert Grigorov. The coaches and all his teammates saw tremendous growth in Albert’s game this season. Consistently starting for Div 1, this big beauty upped his game from recent years. His ability to fill our bellies with delicious food was also a bonus and we can’t thank you enough. Continue being you buddy, Great work. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyclub #abbotsfordbusiness #abbotsfordbc #Bulgaria
Training sessions will be cancelled again today due to unhealthy air conditions. Lets hope this clears up next week and we can get moving around! Please get registered if you havent already
Div 2 MVP Ethan Turner. Tremendous skill was shown from this youngster in all aspects of the game. On offence, his passing was extremely accurate, his kicking was pinpoint and his ability to finish was great. Defensively, he tackled low and used his big boot to get the team out of trouble many times. Good job Ethan. Many great things to come. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #MVP

Div 2 Best Forward Tristan Shayler. Coming into his 1st year of mens, this kid did not shy away from contact. A typical hard working forward Tristan hit ruck after ruck, made tackle after tackle and was always there to run crash balls. Great work Tristan. We are looking forward to seeing you climb the ranks in the years to come. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #Hardworkpaysoff

We have been receiving many email inquiries about what is happening in the Fall regarding age-grade rugby while still in a Covid-19 pandemic situation. The ARFC Youth coaches held a meeting last week to come up with a plan, but as many of you know...it is a "fluid" situation as both BC Rugby and the Provincial Health Officer are the ones outlining what we can/cannot do as a rugby club. Thus, please read the message below from Mark Adams (jn black), Abby Rugby's Youth Coord...inator, in regard to where things are currently at: Hello to all parents and players of the youth ARFC program, The ARFC is in the process with BCRU and the City of Abbotsford of sanctioning to run non-contact rugby training sessions hopefully starting mid-September. Once we have gained approval from the BCRU and the City of Abbotsford we will inform everyone of training session times, locations, registration, and updated safety policies. Our goal is to get as many ARFC youth back playing rugby in a safe and fun environment as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at: [email protected] For more information on the BCRU approval process please visit: http://www.bcrugby.com/returntorugby/ Thanks. Mark Adams
The Clubhouse is open Thursday nights at 7:30. We will have the playoff hockey games on. Come down and enjoy a beverage!
Reaching out for it
Come down to the clubhouse Thursday night and try a @smugglerstrail beer. Smugglers Trail is owned by a couple of great rugby guys so let's show them our support! #supportourown
There are protocols in place for us to return to rugby in BC. There are no sanctioned rugby events by the ARFC at this time. By the end of summer, we will update you on what our plan is for club rugby and what it will all look like this fall. Be safe... You can find the current rugby protocols @ bcrugby.com/returntorugby
Club is open this Thursday! Come have a drink and try our new cornhole boards outside.
