Be patient with others and listen. Being able to offer... support and companionship when others are going through a tough time can be an enormous pillar of security for those you love. If you have children in your life, ensure that they have a healthy routine of sleep, exercise and support from loved ones. Understanding that mental health can be affected by numerous factors with no one-size-fits-all approach, but speaking with professionals can help find better courses of action in counselling and/or medication where needed. The blue ice (frozen excrement that is blue from the disinfectant used by plane sewage systems) shattered through the roof and drywall of the house. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and they were able to claim this occurrence under the Insured Perils classification set out by the Insurance Bureau of Canada.

Picture this: it’s been a long day, and all you want to do is relax, sit by a warm fire and enjoy one of your favourite movies. That’s exactly what one homeowner was thinking when he purchased a pricey new 60-inch flatscreen TV and hung it directly above the fireplace. Sadly, the placement wasn’t ideal. As it turns out, heat from a fireplace is enough to melt a television. His insurance claim for the fire damage would have been covered but upon further consideration, he decided not to proceed after concluding that the relatively low payout wouldn’t have been worth jeopardizing his positive claim history. #WackyClaimWednesday

We’ve all heard stories of mischievous teenagers stealing garden gnomes as a prank, but most homeowners wouldn’t bother filing a claim since the majority of deductibles far exceed the value of a gnome. So, you can imagine the shock of seeing a claim from a homeowner for 403 stolen garden gnomes each different from the other in size and value. Not only did the homeowner have video footage of the theft, but he also kept the receipts for each gnome he had purchased since the 1960s. The total value came out to $47,000, and the man was awarded the full amount. Although, he then faced the tedious process of replacing each gnome one by one.
