Day 118 Landback Update After 3 weeks behind barricades the feds and the province are still dragging their feet. Does it force the hand of those in the OPP? Wi...ll an escalation to the already tense situation become inevitable? We hope for a peaceful resolution as we prepare for a long winter. We’ve done everything possible to maintain the peace. We’ve said over and over that this did not have to come to the point we are at today. Our next 7 generations inherent rights to these lands far outweighs their threats of violence and jails. Our lands and our connection to the land can not be reduced down to a dollar figure. Your laws lay it out clearly. We must be consulted with. Resistance has to be expected without true consultation. Our consent must be granted. We are still holding community meetings throughout six nations. We are encouraging folks that can attend to come out and share with us any concerns you might have. So far the meetings have been good. I am so glad to see our people making small steps toward peace and unity. We are constantly building our camps and growing in all ways. Numbers of people. Solid structures. We keep moving forward with lots of help from our friends. Nyawh to all of you. Without all of you this would be impossible 4 months in. The food that people have been bringing, lthe strength and encouragement are the biggest lift for us. The legal defence Gofundme campaign is still growing which is amazing.
