In 48hrs time these incredible six women will be setting off to race in the Vendée Globe To date only 7 women have taken part. 1996 - Catherine Chabaud on Whirl...pool and Isabelle Autissier on PRB. 2000 - Ellen MacArthur on Kingfisher and Catherine Chabaud on Whirlpool. 2004 - Anne Liardet on Roxy and Karen Leibovici on Benefic. 2008 - Samantha Davies on Roxy and me on Aviva. 2012 - Samantha Davies on Saveol. 2016 - no female participants. Makes 2020 a year to celebrate after all. Fair winds to all
