The Palm House at Allan Gardens is currently adorned with hundreds of Caladium plants, commonly known as "elephant ears" or "angel wings". Grown for their gorge...ous foliage, these shade tolerant tropical plants are native to South and Central America. They thrive in the heat and humidity of the greenhouse during summertime. Interestingly, most of the world’s Caladiums are grown in Lake Placid, Florida! Please note that the Conservatory has reopened to the public from 12-4pm, seven days a week. A mask is required inside the greenhouse and physical distancing guidelines are in effect. Check out this link before you visit: https://bit.ly/2JVaIHt
