125 years ago today is when it all began....the first Chiropractic adjustment. The first patient was not a low back pain or neck pain patient. Harvey Lillard had lost his hearing and after examination D.D. Palmer found a vertebrae out of position. He Adjusted his spine and the first Chiropractic Miracle happened!!!! Harvey Lillards hearing was restored!!! So thankful to ALL who have gone before me so I can do what I LOVE to do everyday!!! Chiropractic is not just a job for me its a way of life! HAPPY 125th BIRTHDAY CHIROPRACTIC!!!!!!

I know that during this time many individuals have increased stress or work demands that are leading to worsening or new physical symptoms that are affecting normal everyday function. Care for patients experiencing a sudden and debilitating change in functional abilities (such as walking, standing, sitting, lifting floor-to-waist or waist-to-shoulder, stair climbing, ladder climbing, etc) or significant restrictions (experienced during bending/twisting, repetitive movement, pushing/pulling with right/left arm). 2. Treatment aimed at alleviating significant pain. This is understood as pain that is incapacitating for the patient and interferes with their ability to carry out normal functioning. Therefore, and in line with this most recent directive from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, chiropractors must practise only emergency care as described above for the duration of this order. **Wednesday March 25, 2020** Temporary requirements for serving you through Chiropractic... As of yesterday (March 24,2020), there is another level of requirements in force to protect our communities from the spread of Covid-19.... I will be open regular hours with the following requirements in place: (in addition to all changes currently in place) 1. As regulated health professionals, chiropractors are permitted to be open for face-to-face care for urgent or emergent patient needs. If you have a chiropractic emergency or lack of care is likely to result in rapid and imminent issues, such as the inability to work or a near-time increase in significant health problems, I CAN see you. 2. I know there are some of you in acute pain, right now. Please continue to access necessary chiropractic care to get through this challenge. 3. I also know there are some of you who are not in acute pain right now but your history of relapse or re-aggravation without care could lead to emergency situations arising. For some of you, things may start to go downhill from working at home or working long hours. For you, I ask that you call me when you see or feel things are heading downhill. You dont have to wait. Call us or email me and I will discuss this with you, to determine if emergent care is needed. 4. And for others, I know you will be ok waiting until after the current order expires. Be patient, think of it as if I have gone on vacation for two weeks. 5. The office is also able to accept new patients at this time who also are in need of urgent care. As you are likely aware, the province of Nova Scotia has declared a state of emergency. With this comes increased guidelines on how to keep one another safe and well during these times. In a phone call to the Minister or Health by our regulatory college, he recognizes the importance of chiropractic service to the public. To adhere to the increased guidelines, I have taken measures to make the office as safe as possible. (See pictures below) -waiting chairs have been removed -the blue tape is 7ft away from the front desk (please keep to the left going back to the adjustment area and the right on your way out) -you will not need to tap in. We will look after that for you. -hand sanitizer (from Barreling Tide - keeping it local) is available upon entry, or the bathroom is available for hand washing with soap and water. - we will only be able to allow 2 individuals in the office at a time. - if you would like to call us when you arrive to check, please do. -obviously I will be in contact with you for your adjustment and will continue to hand sanitize and clean the tables between each adjustment. COVID-19 Update To our valued patients and community. As you already know, we are dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients and know that Chiropractic helps everyone manage the added stress in our lives.... We will continue to remain open as permitted. Your health is our top priority, We are following all safety precautions to ensure an extra clean and healthy environment for our team and patients. Steps we are taking include: not serving tea, removing magazines, toys, wiping down adjustment tables, disinfecting door handles, being extra vigilant about washing our hands (as we usually do), maintaining social distance between waiting room chairs, etc. IMPORTANT NOTE If you are experiencing symptoms, have travelled outside of the country or have been in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms, please contact us to reschedule your appointments following 14 days of self isolations.
