So proud of the contribution made to our community by the CBS Community Garden. It was a different year but thanks to the creativity and commitment of the team the project was still able to flourish!

I was recently asked what makes your business unique? for some promotional work I was doing. I would like to share my response because I think it’s important for people to get to know me and be able to choose a practitioner with a similar philosophy around wellness. Here’s what I wrote (GULP, remember...sharing is caring!) Clients come to me with a wide range of issues. Sometimes they would like to lose weight, sometimes they are dealing with specific health conditions..., sometimes they are trying to regain their energy and find balance in their life. Often, they have gotten off track with habits that don’t support their health and they want guidance, structure and accountability. What makes me unique is that I don’t try to fit clients into a program or a box. I look at what is happening for them, what their priorities are and the unique landscape of their body. I approach the solution with an "everything is connected" philosophy. I work within a framework that focuses on whole food, healthy digestion, and good self-care. But everyone's plan is unique, like they are. The support I provide is also unique. Whether that is developing customized meal plans, helping with meal prep, or even a cooking lesson! It takes a genuine connection and trust for clients to let me into their lives in this way. This is a privilege and a responsibility that inspires me. Education is an important part of what I do. When clients understand why I am recommending certain dietary adjustments or certain foods it makes a big difference in their commitment, their progress and the sustainability of the work that we do together. THEY create the results by coming to understand what their body needs and what works for THEM. This is so much more than a one size fits all internet trend or restrictive program that yields unsustainable results. I’m there to help them set healthy intentions, realistic expectations and to support them as they create sustainable change. While I am a nutrition educator, its not about teaching what I have been taught. Its about sharing what I have learned. This includes the formal education I’ve received about healthy whole food, but more importantly what I have learned about wellness from life’s many ups and downs. Nourishing myself back to good health after cancer treatment, raising 4 children and 3 years of helping clients make healthy changes have shaped my perspective on wellness. I work with clients by listening, understanding their needs and sharing my relevant knowledge and experiences. I have learned that this is what yields the best results for the clients I serve. My approach isn’t for everyone. And that’s ok. But if it resonates with you and you need help to feel your best, reach out. Together we will find YOUR next best step. PS...help me spread wellness, share this post. Xo

Now is a great time to consider working with a nutritionist. Put 2020 in the past and get organized for a fresh start to 2021!! STAY ON TRACK for the holiday season (or at least not stray too far!) MANAGE STRESS by focusing on self care during a time when you are thinking about everyone else. GET ORGANIZED and avoid the rush of the January season... USE INSURANCE benefits that you may have left in your group plan. Consultation fees are covered by many insurance companies!
