9 week old Lilly Belle biting her blanket. Notice a dog bed beside her that she wasn’t tall or strong enough to climb up on yet. So the blanket and pillow was her make-shift bed for a while.
Great read therapist friends- so validating!

We are working to make psychotherapy services HST exempt. If you are a psychotherapist do the 5 minute survey. The government needs to see there is a need for this service to be HST exempt. Help remove barriers to accessing mental health and wellness services. Thank you!

Takes 2 mins. Sign the petition to make psychotherapy and counselling services HST exempt. Social Workers and Psychologist do not have to charge HST for psychotherapy services but Psychotherapist do. This does not make sense. Help reduce the barrier to this health care service. Thank you! https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details

Ever felt like you had to take care of your parents or siblings more than was reasonable for your age and stage development? This article talks about children of parents addicted to substances who had to care for younger siblings. However, parents can also be emotionally unavailable due to their own physical and/or mental illness. Parents may also be re-enacting their own experience of being parented. This can involve disrespecting and disregarding their childrens developme...ntal needs and limitations. These parents can place unreasonable burdens on their children to care for younger siblings. Parentification can effect generation after generation as unhealthy patterns of interaction with others and the intrapersonal relationship with the self become deeply entrenched, then taught through experiences to the next generation. Ever felt like your role in life is to care more about others than for yourself? You may have experienced being parentified. There is hope! Recognition of the pattern; insight into yourself; and the tendency of the roles parentified children tend to take on in their adult relationships can foster the flexibility for other options of relating. Parentified children also tend to be resilient and have a I can do it myself out look. These can be strengths!

Worry is a mixture of anxiety and fear. Check out some of these common worries at different ages & stages.
"Bilateral drawing is a deceptively simple art-based activity that has been around since at least the 1950s that capitalizes on self-regulating properties simil...ar to rocking, walking, cycling or drumming. Some art therapy practitioners refer to bilateral drawing as scribbling with both hands because the intent is not necessarily to make a specific image, but to instead just engage both hands in spontaneous drawing with chalks, pastels or other easily manipulated art materials."
