Posted @withregram @chinesemedicinekelowna Did you know that Chinese herbal therapy can greatly reduce symptoms of IBS? This is a fairly common disorder that affects the large intestine with symptoms that include stomach pain, bloating, and cramping. ... Herbs such as these are known to decrease abdominal pain and stabilize emotional health better than some traditional medical methods. It’s always best to speak with a professional, so feel free to contact me with inquiries! #ibs #guthealth #chronicpain #chinesemedicine #tcm #health #wellness #chineseherbalmedicine #traditionalchinesemedicine #holistichealth #selfcare #holistic #healing #naturalmedicine #balance #medicine #herbalmedicine #alternativemedicine #yyj #plantbased #medicine See more

Dear Friend, I don’t need you at your best when you come to my home. I don’t care what you’re wearing or what car you drove here. I don’t care if there is food ...on your shirt or if your hair has not been brushed. None of that matters to me. I care about you. I care about what’s in your heart, how afraid you are. What you worry about in the night. I care about your deepest fears and your biggest dreams and I am there for it all. If you mess up, I won’t judge. That’s my promise to you. So, don’t cancel me because your house is a mess and your cupboards are bare. I will bring what you need with pleasure and I will listen to your problems without measure. If you are on the floor, I’m picking you up, or I’m sitting right down beside you. You need never be alone down there. And before I leave, I will have made you smile at least once. That’s my promise to you. So, save your best for someone else my friend because I want you just as you are. That’s what friends are for. Posted @withregram In Chinese medicine, we tend to shy away from eating too many cold foods/liquids if possible. When it comes to what we consume, there are two kinds of cold: + Thermal Cold (right out of the fridge) + Energetic Cold (think of raw foods) ... Both types of cold cause vasoconstriction in our digestive systems which then makes things more difficult for our bodies to digest. Our advice? For meals that are thermally cold, try pairing it with something warm like a tea. For meals that are energetically cold, like a salad for example, try cooking without cooking! Massage some citrus juice into the leaves - the acidity will ever so slightly cause the food to cook, just enough to make your body happy! If you’re all about smoothies or juicing, include a bit of ginger in it to energetically warm things up a little. Your tummy will thank you! During this COVID19 pandemic, we are banding together to flatten the curve and stay home more than ever before. This is new, this is different, this is uncomfortable. Our kids are home from school, but we are trying to teach them something (anything). Our toddlers are home from care, but we are trying to tend to their needs as we hide in our office to work. We are going to work full time, out there, putting ourselves at risk, but trying to protect our family/our communit...y. We aren’t able to attend our usual activities, parks, and play centers, sometimes our only source of adult conversation, but we are trying to maintain our sense of self. We are experiencing financial hardship and stress of the unknown, but trying to stay positive and find solutions. No matter which boat we are in, our days are full of highs and lows and BIG emotions as we struggle to adapt our previous expectations of ourselves. Sometimes it won’t feel great in the moment, it’s not all rainbows and unicorns that’s for sure! But this storm too will pass. We will continue to grow and adapt because, that is motherhood. So let’s be easy on ourselves mama-bears and show ourselves the same compassion we show others. And if we do, maybe in the end we will come out of this more Resilient than we were before. Families and Farmers Fundraiser We have come to the difficult decision that we will not be able host the Urban Food-Garden Tour this year. At the same time food... security and growing food locally is more important than ever! We’ve decided to concentrate our efforts and have found a new way to support local Families and Farmers. We’re raising funds to supply Victoria families with fresh, local produce from Northstar Organic Farm. With your help, families with 1Up Single Parent Resource Centre will access a weekly array of fresh, healthy veggies and fruit all summer long. Your donation supports 1Up Families and Northstar Farmers! Donations may be made through 1Up: when you donate to www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=1741&AID=5137, please use the comment box and mention "For Families and Farmers." You will automatically receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation. Questions? Liz at [email protected] Or send a message to us on our Facebook page! www.facebook.com/victoriafoodgardens/
