PRESS THE RESET BUTTON My patients know that I love using analogies to explain how Chinese Medicine and acupuncture works. A new favorite was inspired by a patient who declared that acupuncture felt like pressing the reset button on their nervous system. Brilliant! ... We’ve all had those calls to tech companies to fix a computer or internet connection that’s on the fritz. What’s the first step, always? Press reset, unplug, restart... So when we start to feel the effects of stress and an over-stimulated nervous system (tension, anxiety, insomnia etc), that’s exactly what we need to do. Today I’m helping facilitate this ‘reset’ in patients at Toronto Reproductive Acupuncture Clinic. The fertility journey is an incredibly stressful one, so taking time out of a busy schedule, once a week, can make all the difference. If you haven’t experienced acupuncture yet - reach out! I’d be happy to explain the process and giving people their first acu treatments is something I am particularly fond of

A sneak peak of my new talk therapy room at Living Waters Therapies. I completed my education in contemplative psychotherapy in 2017 and am currently applying for my psychotherapy license with the regulatory college. In the meantime, I’m offering talk therapy sessions at this beautiful clinic. Contemplative psychotherapy bridges Buddhist psychology with western psychotherapy and neuroscience. A powerful way to work with the effects of stress, trauma, and the manifestations of anxiety.

And today I’m enjoying a snowy Sunday in Cannington, seeing patients at The Corner Stone Wellness Center. I always love escaping the city and offering clinic in this space, in a quaint little town that was also my home for 18 years. Growing up in a small (ok TINY) town gave me appreciation for the slower pace, quietness and spaciousness of the country.
