Wise. Funny. Loving. Courageous. These are just a few words that describe moms. We may be celebrating Mother’s Day a little differently this year, but we can still shower the mothers and mother figures in our lives with love and gratitude. What word best describes your mom? #AtriaTogether #HappyMothersDay

We know it’s difficult to be physically away from those you love right now. While nothing compares to being near family, we are working hard to keep residents engaged and spread the love at our community and now we want you to help spread that love far and wide with a virtual #AtriaSpaceHug! What is an Atria SpaceHug, you ask? Watch the video below to find out. Between now and May 15, each video posted with the hashtag #AtriaSpaceHug will be entered to win a gift box of special treats, including a three-box set of Atria StoryWise connection cards. Five winners will be announced on May 15. Send your virtual #AtriaSpaceHug today!

Fill Mom’s heart with joy this Mother’s Day. While gathering together in the traditional sense may not be possible this year, you can still make your Atria mom feel extra special by sending armloads of cards her way. Simply click the link below, write a heartfelt message and invite friends, family, neighbors well, everybody you know to do the same. We’ll print each message on a beautiful card, bundle them all up and hand-deliver straight to her door. Be sure to complete y...our card by May 3 so it arrives in time for Mother’s Day. Plus, for every card sent, Atria will donate $1 to Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund, which is helping feed 22 million children whose lives have been affected by the pandemic. www.atriaseniorliving.com/mothersday #MothersDay #LoveintheTimeofCorona #AtriaCardsforMom #ShareTheLoveWithMom

When was the last time you had a pen pal? Now is the perfect time to embrace the charm of classic correspondence. Choose one of these story-sharing prompts and share a bit about yourself in a card or letter. Then, locate a community of your choice at www.AtriaRetirement.ca. Ensuring the health and well-being of our residents and employees is always our highest priority. Considering the continued spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), we’ve stepped up our existing preventative measures. In addition to increasing cleaning protocols, postponing all large community events, and limiting who may enter a community, we are adding the following guidelines until further notice: - Everyone that enters our community must wash their hands or use available hand sa...nitizer as they arrive and prior to departing. Front desk staff will prompt those entering and leaving to follow this protocol. - We ask all visitors to please utilize the main entrance when they arrive at the community. - We are postponing or cancelling all large community events in which we expect 3 or more outside visitors. This includes converting this weekend’s fashion event from a public event into a resident-only activity. - We are eliminating all outings to public gathering spaces including grocery stores, shopping malls, religious services, theatres and casinos, until further notice. - We strongly recommend that family members do not take residents out of the building to visit public gathering spaces, including grocery stores, shopping malls, religious services, theatres, casinos, etc. - We are closing the anytime café. - We strongly recommend that residents postpone all upcoming travel, including cruises and/or all flights. - Prior to returning the community following a hospital stay, residents must provide either negative test results for COVID-19 (coronavirus) or a note from their physician saying they are infection-free and don’t pose a risk to residents. - We are limiting corporate and regional personnel community visits to only those that are essential. We will continue to monitor Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) updates on the spread of the virus and follow all of their guidelines. We will update this page as the situation changes. For more information on Atria’s response to the spread of the coronavirus, please visit our website at https://www.atriaretirement.ca/covid-19-coronavirus-prepar/. If you’d like to speak with someone directly, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
