Today we welcome back to in-person learning and bricks-and-mortar classrooms all AMDSB students (except AMRLS and AMDEC students). We made it! Don't forget to #ScreenBeforeYouGo using covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening! Let's keep up the good work!
Starting tomorrow, secondary students will be asked to confirm that they have completed the screening (covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening) when attendance is taken each day. If they arrive late, they will be asked when reporting to the office. #ScreenBeforeYouGo
We can't wait to see students on Monday! Don't forget: We will all maintain a 2-metre distance (a 3-seat couch or pool noodle) from others as much as possible, and students should not congregate before or after school. Have you experienced loss due to death? Divorce? Job loss? COVID? Another negative event in your life? Whether your grief is recent or happened sometime in the past, this series of webinars from Huron Residential Hospice will help you understand how loss impacts your life. The three sessions occur October 8, 15, and 22.
This Wednesday, September 30, AMDSB staff and students will be participating in Orange Shirt Day. We wear orange on this day every year to honour the legacy of residential school survivors and their families, and stand in unity with them as they seek reconciliation. The Orange Shirt Day movement began with Phyllis Webstad, who was not allowed to keep the orange shirt she took to residential school at 6 years old.
