Before I had my own baby someone told me that having a child makes time go simultaneously fast and slow. This resonated with me.

I love capturing extended families. It’s fun working through my prompts and seeing how the dynamic plays out. One thing I can always predict is that there is going to be a ton of laughs

This little hen from an extended fam shoot a couple weeks ago stopped me in my tracks tonight with those eyes I’m a sucker for baby eyes. What’s your favourite wee baby feature???

One of the best parts of my job is watching babies grow. Sweet Ruby is earth side since our last shoot and this new mom and dad couldn’t be happier.

Fall minis were a huge hit this weekend. Can’t thank all the families who came out enough for choosing me to spend time with them

Fall is coming in strong like a summer west coast tide but these warm days on the beach with beautiful strangers will be greatly missed!

Got some new followers so thought I would introduce myself! I’m Amy, I’m the photographer for Oats in the Water, and I am. DISABLED. I wrote that in big because my dynamic disability, thoracic outlet syndrome, can often appear invisible. Most recently I was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome, the most painful condition a person can have. This condition is unfortunately not invisible and my skin is constantly changing along with my pain level. I am often found in V...ancouver at multiple doctors offices as well as surgeries. As of October 20th I’ll be heading over for a rib amputation that will affect my right arm for an unforeseen amount of time. Oats will be taking a break, hoping it is a see ya later situation and not a goodbye. I’m so grateful for everyone who has booked with me, clients who understand my situation, and of course the people who have booked with me repeatedly since day one, you know who you are! If you want to get a shoot I have some dates left for October and if not I hope to see you again in the future! Amy
