With the clocks moving forward it’s time to change your smoke and CO alarm batteries! Test your devices monthly, and make sure your devices are current. Many smoke alarms have a 7-10 year life span, and many CO alarms are limited to 5 years. Spread the word: functioning smoke and CO alarms are not only required to be in place and properly maintained by law, but most importantly, allow early detection and notification. This is the single most important factor in increasing survivability in a life safety fire or CO poisoning event in your home or workplace.
