Brick Bradford, Flying Ace 10.10.2020

Cairo, October, 1943 ". . . we stayed at Canada House, where the top 2 floors of a 20 floor building was a hostel for Canadians passing through Cairo. The 2 floors contained sleeping quarters, dining and lounge areas. Several pilots were staying with us, so together we often went sight-seeing. Another diversion was to make paper airplanes in the lounge. We would sail them off the balcony from the 20th floor. With the rising hot air currents from the streets below, the airplan...es would soar from 5 to 10 minutes." When I was finishing high school, Brick/Dad gave me a copy of The Scientific American ‘Great Paper Airplane Contest’. I still have the copy. Nostalgia probably prompted this gift well as to keep me interested in aviation. Well it worked. Recently, I made 4 variations from the ‘Contest’ pages for my two year old grand-daughter and kept her entertained for hours. One of her favourites: https://youtu.be/ChxzuNXqoTg
