2021 ISDI FACULTY INTRODUCTIONS The 2021 International Summer Dance Intensive at Arts Umbrella has officially begun! This week the extraordinary Rebecca Margoli...ck of Dance Magazine's Top 25 to Watch in 2021 has kindly joined our ISDI guest faculty to teach Modern classes to the young participants! Check out the bio below to learn a little more about Margolick: Rebecca Margolick is a dancer and choreographer based in Peekskill, NY and raised in Vancouver, Canada. Her multi disciplinary and solo works have been presented in Poland, Bulgaria, Israel, Seattle, San Diego, Montreal, Vancouver, Wells B.C, Mexico City and NYC. She was named Top 25 to Watch in 2021 from Dance Magazine. Her solo Bunker + Vault won the Jury Prize for best indoor choreographic work at the 2019 Festival Quartiers Danses in Montreal. She was in the 2020 New Directions Choreography Lab Fellowship at the Alvin Ailey School under the mentorship of Gus Solomons Jr. and Dance Artist in Residence at The Banff Centre for the Arts in December 2019. She is a 2020/2021 artist in residence at the Deck Dance in Vancouver Canada. Margolick is currently Rehearsal Director and a dancer with Chuck Wilt’s UNA Productions, and was a dancer with Sidra Bell Dance New York from 2012-2016. Freelancing, she has worked with a number of artists including Kayla Farrish, Allen Kaeja, Patricia Norowol, Jerome Bel (The Show Must Go On), Derrick Belcham, Emily Terndrup, Maya Orchin, Shay Kuebler, and Barak Marshall, among others. Margolick is an Artistic Associate of BC Movement Arts SocietyBC - a non profit society based in Sointula, British Columbia, bringing together urban and rural to present contemporary dance, residencies and associated outreach. She has guest taught at UArts, Derida Dance, Simon Fraser University, ArtsWells Festival, Ailey School, and NYU. Margolick graduated from NYU Tisch and trained at Arts Umbrella in Vancouver.
