While there's no such thing as a horse "whisperer" - there are DARNED SURE some *VERY IMPORTANT* things called, horse *WHISKERS* - Horse WHISKERS are REAL- that... rhymes with FEEL - and your horse *NEEDS* them. ALL horses need them. I find it incomprehensible that so many folks decide to shave their horse's whiskers for any reason other than a rare medical event. Recently, when I questioned a client of mine about "WHY" she's shaving the whiskers off her horse - as I'm standing there no less, finishing a shoeing - her response was, "...because we're going riding with a group and I want my horse to look nice..". I repeated her answer to her and followed it with, "T-H-I-N-K about what you just said.". Maybe she'll see this image here again. Maybe she won't. FOR THE GOOD OF THE HORSE, JWW.

Two years ago a very aged gelding was surrendered to CHRN from a dude ranch. He didn't have a single adoption appointment, no one wanted a spicy nearly 30 year ...old gelding with no teeth. I figured he would be with us forever. Well tonight, after less than 6 months of riding him, that old gelding won my daughter not one, but TWO buckles! That horse that no one wanted has paid back his adoption fee in checks and changed my girl forever. No one wants to listen when they look for kid's horses and I offer seniors... well listen up!
