Hello fellow trail users, The Distance Riders of Manitoba will be holding a yearly endurance ride at the Belair Forest on Hwy 304 at Stead on October 3 & 4. We ...usually hold a ride at various locations once a year. We would like to thank you all for sharing the trails with us and respecting each other out on trail. While our horses are all trained we would like to remind you that they are all animals with minds of their own and we do not how they will react with regards to quads speeding by them. We would all like to go home safe at the end of the day so if everyone could slow down or stop when you see us to allow us to pass we would greatly appreciate it. We want to wish you all happy trailing and enjoy your rides. Thank you, Board Member at Large with Distance Riders of Manitoba Shannon Yaskiw

OPTION 1 RIDE (From north staging area 10:00 AM)... We will start the ride from our north staging area which is located on Hwy 11 and 1.6 kms east of Hwy 59 intersection (Traverse Bay Corner Esso). Turn south on the gravel road 1.6 kms east from Hwy 59 and proceed 0.5 kms to the large open staging area. See attached map. Be there by 10:00 AM to unload and we will be leaving at10:30 AM sharp. We will ride south from the staging area down the Ridge Trail and North Star to our south staging area at Hwy. 11 near Stead arriving approximately 12:00 noon. At this south staging area, riders can choose to either head back to the north staging area or continue on down our Whistle Pig Rail Trail to Pine Falls with the other riders who are staging from there. Bring a bag lunch along for our break stop in Pine Falls and there is also gas and a Subway Restaurant available near by. OPTION 2 RIDE (From south staging area 11:30 AM) This ride will commence from the south staging area and we will proceed to Pine Falls down the Whistle Pig Rail Trail for riders who want a shorter ride. We will be joined by the group who staged from the North who choose the longer ride. Riders are asked to be at the south staging area and unloaded by 11:30 AM and ready for a departure approximately 12:00 noon. This south staging area is 7 kms east on Hwy 304 from the Intersection of Hwy 59 and on the north side of the highway at the Stead turn off. Please note that we have all our 600 kms of ATV trails available on the free Polaris Ride Command application which provides for full GPS navigation just like a car GPS and also provides for track recording, group rides, ride replays and many other features. You can download the free app for either Android or Apple smart phones and tablet from your app store. Give it a try and see the large array of trails. We will also have on new club decals to hand out for free to stick to your machine.
