In November, Tree Canada / Arbres Canada and Home Hardware Stores Limited planted a tree at Holy Well Park to launch a new province-wide initiative between Home Hardware and national non-profit Tree Canada. The initiative saw Home Hardware donate $65,000 to Tree Canada’s Operation ReLeaf, ear-marking their funds to help provincial municipalities restore trees lost to Hurricane Dorian. The program offered municipalities the opportunity to take advantage of the funding made po...ssible through Home Hardware’s support. Shown in the photo is Retail Manager, Corey Funk and Tree Canada Community Advisor, Bruce Carter planting a tree in Holy Well Park, Main St, Bible Hill. Bicycling laws in Nova Scotia: Sidewalks: Cyclists must follow the same law as motor vehicles and use the right-hand side of the road, not the sidewalk, (except children under 16 are allowed to ride on the sidewalk). Crosswalk dismount: Even children need to dismount and become a pedestrian when crossing a crosswalk.... Safety gear: All riders must wear a helmet and have a bell or a horn installed. Lighting: 30 minutes before sunset to 30 minutes after sunrise, you need a white light installed on the front of your bike and a red reflector on the rear. Signal: You're required to use hand signals, otherwise you may be liable for any collisions. You're driving a vehicle: Unless otherwise stated by law, you have to follow every rule that applies to any other vehicle. Source: Bicycle Nova Scotia

Bible Hill members also backed the Truro Fire Service today when they and Hilden had a structure fire (see photo). When this occurs, Bible Hill Members help to ...staff the Truro Fire Station in case a fire occurs when all Truro Members are at the fire. In addition, the remaining Bible Hill Firefighters head to the Bible Hill station and wait there to ensure our area has very quick response should something occur in the Village. This is the nature of Mutual Aid. Bible Hill may call in another department for help if a serious matter arose in our area during the couple of hours we are backing Truro. We are all in this together. Thanks to all who spent their Thanksgiving making sure we were safe. Village of Bible Hill See more

This weekend many of us are finding different ways to safely celebrate with family and friends in-person and over screens. We are thankful for the Nova Scotians... who stepped up to help their neighbours and communities through tough times this year. We remember those who are no longer with us. We continue to practice healthy habits and look out for one another. This video looks at the events that brought us together, and kept us apart, in 2020.
