Thank you to our veterans and 2020 honourees. We are very lucky to have such amazing community support so that even in these times we are able to continue Hono...uring Our Local Veterans. It was a strange year, and we are all trying to adapt and learn new ways of doing things. Please enjoy our 20th Annual Honouring Our Local Veterans video on youtube below. We apologize for some errors, see below for edits: *WO Trisha Jolliffe was a Combat Engineer during Operation Palladium in Bosnia, 2001. *Sargent Richards, During deployment abroad HMCS Regina, the ship stayed in the Indian Ocean for 56 days before transition to the Mediterranean Sea, ready for active action. Richards accompanied an injured sailor to Mombasa, Kenya, saying with him for 6 days. https://can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ See more

Veteran Steve Lehman did a Memory Project Presentation live from the Billy Bishop Museum today for a group of Toronto District School Board students. Steve spoke about his deployments to Somalia, Bosnia and Afghanistan and was asked some great questions by the students. Presently, Steve and fellow veterans Mike Boudrias and Roger Weron are curating a new exhibit at BBM entitled The Unseen: 75 Years IN the Canadian Armed Forces. Details about the opening of this exhibit will be released soon.

We will remember them. These wreaths were laid today at the Owen Sound Cenotaph during a virtual service organized by Branch 6, Royal Canadian Legion. Memory Markers were erected in Jervis Bay Park in honour of Lieutenant Colonel Donald Mackenzie and Flying Officer Clarence Long who were killed in action during the Second World War. Posthumous tributes were made to these servicemen during this year’s Honouring Our Local Veterans.
