(August 12th, 2020) Broughton, NS - Crews were called to Broughton rd at 7:17 pm for a report of a trailer on fire close to a home. Upon arrival crews were met with a trailer fire extenting into the roof of the home. Initial reports came in that a homeowner and animals may be inside. After a search of the house it was determined noone was inside. With the location, one of the biggest obstacles was water supply, Tankers from as far away as New Victoria, NS where brought in to ...shuttle water to the fire. Crews remained on scene until the early Thursday morning as heavey equipment was brought in to open up the house. Crews where called back later in the morning for a flare up. Thank You! To all of the Fire Departments, Firefighters, EHS, and CBRPS that responded to the scene. Your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated! (July 22nd, 2020 at 9:58 p.m.) Birch Grove - Shortly after returning to the station from a stand down call in Tower Road, Birch Grove Fire along with murual aid departments, Tower Road, Donkin and Port Morien were called to the Sand Lake road area of Birch Grove for a vehicle on fire. Crews were quick to respond and knock down the fire. Great job by all!... (July 15, 2020. 8:27 a.m.) Birch Grove Fire responding mutual aid with Tower Road Fire to the area of Birch Grove rd for a vehicle fire. Crews where quick to knock down the fire and contain it from spreading. Donkin and Port Morien fire departments where also dispatched to the seen as part of the mutual aid agreement but they where placed on stand-by. Great job by all!... (July 07, 2020) - 6:58 a.m. Birch Grove, Donkin and Tower Road Fire Departments responded mutual aid in the area of Donkin/Morien Highway for a single vehicle MVA. Birch Grove Volunteer Fire Department Tower Road Volunteer Fire Department Donkin Fire Department

July 2nd, 2020 - Birch Grove, Tower Road, Donkin and Port Morien Fire Departments had a busy 24 hours responding to multiple mutual aid calls. -First call came in at 12.35 a.m. for a stove fire on Birch St in Port Morien, crews where quick to extinguish the fire. -Second call came in at 3.22 p.m. for something on fire on Donkin Highway, the call was then updated as a structure fire, crews where met with a fully involved two bay garage, with the fire extending into the attic... of the home. Crews where quick to knock down the fire and keep damage at a minimal. -Third call came in at 6.06 p.m. for a matress in a home on fire in Donkin. The call was then upgraded to a two story structure fire with the second floor on fire. (June 13th, 2020) Birch Grove, Port Morien, Tower Road and Donkin Fire, responded as mutual aid to the area of Birch Grove rd and Gun range rd for a large debris fire at 7:06pm. Crews immediately started shuttling water into the area. Glace Bay, Grand Lake rd and Reserve Mines Fire where called in as Pumper and Tanker support. Crews left the seen at 2:00am. Thank you to all members and fire departments that where called to the scene!

Hello Everyone, After talking with members of Dave's family, we decided to organize a drive by of Dave's residence while some family members are home. We ask th...at we meet at Birch Grove Fire Dept parking lot Thursday June 4th , prior to 6:45 pm and depart for drive by at 7:00 pm sharp. Please, the Executive strongly advise all members to maintain distancing while participating in this gesture of our respect to this man and his family. Let's not put the safety of others at risk. Thank you in advance. When we finish the pass by, please disburse from there. We the Executive thank you for participating in advance and appreciate the giving of your time to show the family how much Dave meant to the club, and his fellow members.
