I just wanted to share some of our Halloween decorations in case anyone needs any inspiration! Almost everything is either from Dollarama (with or without modifications) or handmade by Birchwood & Burlap Custom Decor. My boys really loved all the fake spiders & bats and while they were helping with decorating, they walked away with quite a few of them... they had to take them on truck & tractor rides and bring them in the bath... oh and of course they went for naps & b...edtimes too! DIY Fall Decor Pumpkin Makeover! I am so impressed with how these turned out!! This project is PERFECT for updating any of your old fall decor or transforming your Dollar store finds...... Check the comments for the BEFORE picture for this DIY project. DIY Materials & Details: Old/Dollar Store Artificial Pumpkins House&Canvas Chalk Finish Paint Birchwood & Burlap Vinyl Labels Ribbon & Jute I used House&Canvas chalk finish paint in Sterling for 3 pumpkins (on the large Happy Fall and the two small pumpkins without words - I love this beautiful light grey colour!). I used white acrylic paint on the other two pumpkins (the ones with Thankful & Family). Paint TIP: it took several coats to cover the pumpkins with the white acrylic paint and only ONE coat with the House&Canvas paint!!! Use @houseandcanvas paints if you want to save yourself some time on this project. I created the vinyl label words to fit each pumpkin perfectly. A little late night behind the scenes, working on some Etsy orders... I do most of my painting in my kitchen after my boys are asleep which is why I love using House and Canvas chalk paint! It’s ultra low VOC so is virtually odourless, which is perfect when painting indoors. I had the pleasure of making another beautiful custom order! This pallet picture holder is absolutely STUNNING & I definitely NEED to make another one for our home! I love displaying pictures and this is just perfect for doing that!! I really like how easily you can change/update pictures or add anything currently special/important/seasonal like birthday or holiday cards or family/children’s artwork. So many options!!! ... I used my favourite chalk paint on the wood to give it the perfect colour combination! It has an overall light grey colour tone (House&Canvas chalk paint in Sterling) but I also added some darker grey (House&Canvas chalk paint in River Rock) to various areas to help give the wood dimension and a really authentic rustic appearance.
