We learned that coffee made from freshly roasted beans has the same antioxidant properties as green tea! We learned all kinds of ways to make a great cup, too. French press is still the daily winner. You must let it steep for at least 4 to 6 minutes for a strong cup - even longer if you like. Our current fave is the Brazilian pea berry- yum So everything I learned about coffee I learned from the Happy Goat! How does a logo come to life? Crafting a logo is a process of listening, learning, researching and creating walking away and then going back to look with fresh eyes for final adjustments. The process starts well before sitting down at a computer and even once started is the source of many waking thoughts and ideas when not a work. For me design is all encompassing. PranaShanti Yoga Centre is one of Ottawa‘s most loved yoga studios with a huge community of teachers, students... and wellness clients who are all invested personally, physically and emotionally in the life and future of the studio. This does come to bear when we re-envisioning an identity for a much loved business - no pressure... lol! Prana Shanti literally means peaceful breath or peaceful life force and I felt that needed to be expressed somehow in the redesign. Visual marks don’t have to be complicated or fussy to deliver an essence - simple single focus can do that quite elegantly. The joined a’ and n’s provide that wave of breath, that flow of movement and that interconnectedness of the senses experienced in the practice of yoga, mindfulness and within community as well. The teachers requested that we keep the existing mandala and so we did, positioning it just above the word mark - like the sun. You’ll notice too that the colours go from dark to light a reflection of the transformation people often experience as their personal practices evolve.
