A glorious day for a ride for sure. With our days a little longer, take advantage while you can. Also...we need your help. Our groomer operator seems to have lost the key for his Polaris sled on Sunday. If anyone happens to be around the PB snowcat today, could you please look around that general parking area to see if you can spot that key and let us know? Thanks in advance for taking a look! Have an awesome week!

Great to see our Canadian Flag flying proudly over our prized play area once again!! Thanks again to Dennis Cole for all the hard work yesterday and his far better half, Pam, for capturing some great photos yesterday.

A big thanks to Dennis & Pam Cole for grooming the trail today and reinstalling our beloved Canadian Flag. Somebody buy Dennis a beer or two or three! It looks like it was a bunch of shovelling for sure!! #volunteersmatter #blacktusksnowmobileclub

With January now in the rear view mirror, time to look forward a bit...but with some definite caution for the next few days. Avalanche Canada's bulletin for Feb 1,2 & 3 should be reviewed. https://www.avalanche.ca/forecasts/sea-to-sky To help with your preparedness on Brohm, the club is thrilled to announce the installation of a 'Beacon Checker' at the Chalet. A HUGE Thank You to Backcountry Motorsports in Pemberton for sponsoring this. Also a big thanks to Director Paya...m Kavousian and Director Pete Auld in making this a reality!! Thanks for all the awesome work on this guys. For those of you not familiar with a 'Beacon Checker', simply sled by the Chalet within about 10' of it and it will give you the 'GREEN' indicator light that your Avy Beacon is transmitting properly or it will remain 'RED' indicating that you may have an issue with your transmitter. Have a great week and stay safe out there! #blacktusksnowmobileclub, #volunteersmatter, #safetyfirst See more

Club president Tony Cailes and club director Hayley Auld shared some words with the local news paper recently to give their prospective on sledding in the Sea to Sky. Give it a read!

Late night trail grooming on Friday night by the dedicated volunteers from West Van and South Surrey. Trail groomed all the way up to Barry's Peak and turn around area at the top opened up significantly! A big thank you to all the volunteers that have shovelled snow off the cabin decks!! You rock! One more request. Could we please get the snow removed from the roof of the wood shed of the clubhouse? Finally. Stay tuned for a big unveiling surprise by Club Directors Payam K and Pete A. Trust us...you will be impressed!! #volunteersmatter

Repairs to the Chalet are essential for long term sustainability. A HUGE thanks to Pete Auld (Director of Buildings) for getting the process started on roof repairs! Remember, next weekend Sept 12-13, another wood gathering party. Contact Director, Hayley Auld to volunteer your time!!

As we approach the 50th Anniversary of the club, we are very fortunate to have some historical photos of when the Chalet was first constructed by Garibaldi Glacier Resorts. Thank you to one of our own, Don Scott, that was a 'care taker' on the mountain when he was 17 and has all these great photos to share with us.

When we look back at the 50 year history of the club, there are photos that tell us a story. Did you ever wonder why 'Wolverine Corner' was named as such? During the construction phase of Garibaldi Glacier Resort, they utilized a snow cat called a Wolverine. Evidently, one of the operators had an issue negotiating that corner and thus became known as 'Wolverine Corner'! Now you know!! For context for some, this is the corner just above 'Slide Corner'. These photos from 1971!! Photos courtesy of Don Scott.

It’s that time of year again and we need YOU to help get ready for winter. This weekend (August 22-23rd) Tony will be at the cabin ready to receive the first truckloads of wood. You can collect it in the cutblock below the 4km bridge (the area where our parking was lockstep for the majority of the season). There is also another wood weekend being arranged for Sept. 12-13. Contact director [email protected] for information about how you can help with this weekend.

Good morning Sled Heads! As per our post last week, we have a fire wood work weekend coming up this weekend. We need folks with trucks, saws, splitting axes and a 'git 'er done' attitude!! There is plenty of wood between the 'gravel pit' and the bridge parking area. Please confirm here or with Tony Cailes or Hayley Auld. Tony will be at the cabins on Friday afternoon through the weekend so if you want to get an early start, he will be there. Plan to stay overnight if you don't feel like making the trek down the same day. We look forward to seeing many of you help out the club this weekend!! We are also looking for experienced roofers to help us out the 2nd weekend of September on the Chalet roof. Reply to this post of your availability and Erin and/or Pete will get back to you.

Howdy Sled Heads!! Mark these 2 dates in your calendars! Aug 22-23 & Sept 12-13. Fire wood & Chalet Roof Repairs. We need help and volunteers for firewood. Feel free to respond to this thread and the events have been created on the website. https://www.btsc.ca/events It is the clubs 50th Anniversary this year. (More information on that in the near future!) Hayley Auld has arranged for fire wood pick up on Saturday Sept 12. Contact Hayley for details. There is also plenty of wood past the Cat Lake access near 'Dry Hill'. Pete Auld & Erin Hart are organizing a plan for Chalet Roof repairs. We are requesting professional roofers to volunteer their time for the weekend of Sept 12-13 to help us with the roof.

Every time someone from our small, mountain riding community passes in the mountains, it hurts. But even more so when it's someone you know. https://sleddermag.com/rob-kincaid-tribute/ Mountain Sledder Magazine #robkincaid #arcticcat #avalanche #tribute
