For those that don't know over these past through months (through Covid) I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with youth locally in the area in an employment program. I am continually touched by the unbelievable gifts and talents they each possess, including this amazing young man who is in a contest for a song/music video that him and his girlfriend wrote and recorded, along with some friends who helped produce the vi...deo. Hello Sweet Friends, For those of you than know me, you know I love nothing more than to go away on an intensive meditation retreat. At the beginning of 2020, I had my year planned out to attend 6 meditation retreats over the span of the year, accumulating to almost two full months of deep practice. However, since the pandemic, of course all my planned retreats were cancelled, and some fortunately moved to online. Since March, I have since attended 4 online meditation retrea...ts spanning anywhere from 10 days to 3 days. And though they do not replace in-person silent retreats, I have found them to be very supportive for my practice and quit enjoyable. Therefore, I am excited to announce I will be leading my own online meditation retreat and would love for you to join me in deeper practice in the privacy of your own home.

I debated for the past couple of days if I would post again this week after hearing the movement on social media not to post anything unless it was directly in support of the human rights of persons with colour. Though I stand behind this beautiful movement and am deeply touched by it, I do feel the need to share this message from Desmond Tutu, an African American Human Rights Activist. Since I feel these words need to be heard loud in clear. Along with the millions of othe...rs who are courageous enough to stand up against racism towards people of colour and the rights for human equality. This is a pump me up anthem that I have been reciting to myself for the past 10 years or so. The daily discomfort I experience, arises from the willingness to take on challenges, stretch my comfort zones and explore new opportunities. All of which are traits of creativity, something I never thought I possessed, until I seen the word from a new perspective. Expressing creativity is a necessary ingredient for happiness. What I love about this pic (besides from it being so darn cute ) is that it was taken by my eldest niece, Aiden the day their new family puppy arrived home. Just moments before this pic was taken of Trapper, he was running around wildly like a mad man, from on thing to the next. I think at times, our minds operate much like a puppy, jumping around from one thing to the next without much attention. This is such a powerful reminder for me because the truth is I still find myself at times getting snared by thoughts of the past or the future. Since I was a little girl, I have deeply cared the health of the planet and the beings that habitat it. However, I never really seen the connection between caring for living beings oppose to non living things and most treated non living things like appliances for example () with very little care. After the purchase of a new fridge this year, when our last fridge lasted less than 10 years due to a lack of care, I really made a commitment to myself to start to care for all... things (living and non) more deeply. Because in taking care of my things, I know I am taking better care of the world and all the beings in it. I am so deeply grateful for the practice of mindfulness and meditation, as it has opened my eyes to a entire new way of seeing and being. Since I started on my mindful journey, I have noticed the level of care I have for which seems to be the silliest things increase. Like wanting to salvage a pair of wooden chopsticks or sewing a pair of socks oppose to throwing them away. Though these things seem small, I can feel the impact it has on me when I don’t take care of such things in that way, and when I do.
