Ever since a global pandemic slowed us down, birds flew in peace without airplanes, and chosen families grew exponentially. Ever since yet another black man, Mr. George Floyd was murdered in broad daylight by four racist and cowardly cops, to some, Black lives began to matter even more, and let's hope this love continues forever to evolve in all positive ways possible. Ever since us "Canadians" on stolen land got CERB money, from the government, we realized that we could hav...e provided the rightful owners of Canada with clean water all along... And to apprehend the killers of indigenous women and children, instead of building pipelines... Ever since so many more trans and queer folks had enough of being excluded, omitted and murdered, they gathered even more love and courage toward self definition, and formed their own chosen families to live in safer and happier homes. And ever since this pandemic began in early March, we all had to learn to adapt, wear masks to protect others, and wash our hands, as well as cooking/eating alone, protesting together and acknowledging our privileges. I am very grateful to have my blood and chosen queer and trans family at Burcu's Angels, and for all returning clients and neighbours. Without them, this would have been impossible to achieve. So, thanks to all of you, we are open again, and cautiously optimistic about the future of our existence as a small business. Please know that we are a safe place that will not tolerate any kind of racist, homophobic, transphobic or misogynist behaviours.
