Angieandrod Pollok are looking for any green tomatoes that someone doesn't need? "I need about 8 to 12 cups for raspberry jam. Thanks Angie." Please message Angieandrod Pollok, NOT the Burns Lake Community Garden.
Does anyone want some free Oregano? I had to dig out a clump to make room for chives in my herb bed at home. I could take it to Lakes Artisan Centre on Wednesday 12-5 pm when I work there. Please let me know, ~ Beate

The Burns Lake Community Garden Society AGM will be taking place on Thursday November 5th at 7pm via Zoom. We will be sharing the link for the meeting soon but for now please mark your calendars. We hope to see you all for our annual report and election of the board members. Also, we are hoping to have the 2020 gardening season squared away by the end of October so if you happen to still have some tidying up to do in either your plots or greenhouse spaces, we kindly request that completed in the next week as winter seems to be settling in early. Thank you and hope to see at the AGM!!
Thanks to one of our most loyal volunteers great maintenance has happened again to the Community Garden's lawn tractor: Washed & greased, additive in the fuel system, air filter cleaned, oil & filter done, new mulching blades installed, scrapped underside of old grass build up, covered & stored for winter. Now, another loyal volunteer can use it next season to keep our garden in good shape. THANK YOU!!!!!! ~ Beate

Reminder! Hello Garden Members, It is that time of year when once again when we must start thinking about putting our gardens to bed. We would like to invite all our members to meet at the garden on Saturday Sep 19th at 1pm to help complete the year end garden clean up. There is a lot to do and many hands make light work! ... Some things we would like to get accomplished include: members cleaning out their own garden and greenhouse plots clearing out all communal edible landscape areas removing and storing hoses and nozzles (we will be turning the water off soon) tidying the tool shed and removing garbage If you are not able to make this date or are not quite ready to clear out your plots, we ask all our members to have their raised or in ground bed and greenhouse plot (if applicable) cleaned up no later than Oct 30th. We want our members in 2021 to be able to start out fresh with clean garden spaces so please leave yours tidy even if you expect to be returning the following year. Thank you and hope to see you soon!! BLCG Board
I harvested my Community Garden potatoes today. I'm pretty happy with them. The bigger basket holds "Alberta Rose" and the smaller one holds "Yukon Gold". The o...ther half of the bed had been planted with garlic. So, here's what one raised bed 5' x 20' (I think) gave me this season. Thank you! See more
Good morning garden members! The water has been fixed in the greenhouse but we are still asking that members keep an eye out as the possibility remains that it will quit again. We have sent an email to all garden members as well. Happy Monday!

Thank you, Community Garden, for growing such good garlic for my family. Beate
Greenhouse members - The watering system in the greenhouse is not working at the moment. Given warm week ahead it’s recommended you water your plants everyday. We will update you once it’s fixed.
