If you are feeling grief and loss around not getting the pregnancy, birth, or postpartum experience you had hoped for, planned, and dreamed of, you are not alon...e. And grief, sadness, and loss, are completely acceptable feelings to have, even if you also feel happiness, joy, and excitement for your new babe and your new family. Multiple feelings are allowed. Grieving these really real losses, and others, is allowed. You are allowed to feel loss, even if you have an easy pregnancy, or a healthy baby, or a supportive partner, or what have you. This is not what you imagined this time of your life would be like. Also, as you can read in the post below from @cpmhc, if you are struggling right now, you are not alone. AND you deserve support. If you would like some support from us, we are available Mon-Fri, 10-3, by phone or text message at 604-255-7999. Posted @withregram @cpmhc From 1 in 5 to 1 in 3That’s what the latest COVID Perinatal Mental Health study has found. Over 36% of moms reported clinically significant levels of depression. Before the pandemic, rates of perinatal depression were generally considered to be 15-20%. The new study is aptly called PEACE (Perinatal Experiences and COVID-19 Effects Study). We need a national strategy to improve perinatal mental health care #nowmorethanever and bring families the peace they so desperately need and deserve. The mental health of our future generations is at stake. The time to act is now. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releas/2020//201201171728.htm

Going for a walk, parents carpooling kids to and from school and grandparents providing child care are not considered social gatherings and are allowed. However if you go for a walk, please make sure a walk does not turn into a group of people meeting outside. http://ow.ly/kufM50Cwzyc

COVID-19 can spread at any celebration big or small. It just takes one person and the impact can be widespread. Do your part: limit your social interactions. Celebrate important occasions virtually or postpone them until a later date. https://gov.bc.ca/COVID19restrictions
