Happy Birthday Vincent VanGogh! I first saw this painting at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam 5 years ago. I chose to sketch it there mostly because there was a bench in front of it and the room was quiet and away from large tourist groups! I drew it in my moleskin sketchbook.l at the time and I remember the dim room and how beautifully quiet it was before the tourists filled the room. I love that memory of really connecting to these pieces. I recreated it again with @derwent...art_canada’s Inktense pencils last summer and keep the postcard on my studio wall. The first piece from Lockdown 2020. A year ago! If there is any positive from this last year, it is that Lockdown and Covid Restrictions have allowed me to take my Art and Career to places I never thought possible. It was fun making this speedpainting for Richard’s new Song, Like a Tree. I met him a few years ago at one of his house concerts and I loved his music ever since! It has a laid back, warm sound and his lyrics are really heartfelt. Check out his Music!
