Canning Area Fire Fighters are a volunteer organization who work very hard at all hours fighting fires and helping to keep us safe. You would think that would ...be enough to give to the community. Yet each year this group of volunteers take it upon themselves to help those in need by hosting an annual food drive for the Canning Area Food Bank. With the help of community members supporting this effort, we were able to stock our shelves with approx 5000 pounds of food & received $15,000 in monetary donations to cover the costs of things we may need. Truly thankful to live in a community with such good people. Thank you to the fire department, community members and food bank volunteers for making this such a success.

Disposing hot ashes from your wood stove into your greenbin not only poses the risk of having a green bin fire, depending on exposure, it could cause fire damage to your home . It also is a huge risk to the environmental waste vehicle. Please dispose of hot ashes properly. A metal bucket or trash can with a lid. Douse with water and place away from your home and any out buildings . Stay safe !!!!

Captain Noala asked Santa to send a video to the fire dept Facebook page so the children in Canning knew that Santa has been thinking of them and he will still be making visits on Christmas Eve. He has been quarantining at the North Pole and is ready to deliver presents Dec 24
