Drum roll please ! Laker is now available for adoption and let us tell you ... this little man is a heart stealer! He quickly figured out the fleece bedding ...in his foster home and that people are warm snuggle buddies Laker is estimated to be a very young adult, neutered male, microchip, Felv/Fiv tested negative, current on deworming/flea tick and rabies vaccine (will still require a booster of his upper respiratory vaccine) Applications can be received at [email protected]

Share for my cat parents out there ! Do not let your cats be stressed at home, in the car or at the vet! We can make the experience way more purrrfect. A huge shout out and congratulations to my friend and colleague, Dr. Liz Bales, for inventing #2!

Under-grooming Have you noticed an increase of dead hair or clumps of hair on certain areas of your cats body? Have you noticed under grooming in a patient in y...our clinic? As our cats get older and begin to develop arthritis, it can limit their movement preventing them from carrying out their usual self care routine, including grooming. Joint discomfort in many areas can reduce movement, and make reaching around to groom specific areas difficult. In this image, this cat struggles to reach his hind legs, resulting in clumps of dead hair building up in these areas. On examination, discomfort along the spine became evident, so medication was prescribed to help manage the pain and the owner increased grooming with a soft bristle brush. Monitor your cats grooming habits to help recognise discomfort or pain

I was gifted a bouquet of flowers a couple of weeks ago and was sad to turf this part of the bouquet outside, but knowing they are toxic to cats, it was a no-brainer. I expected them to succumb to the cold, but here they are 2 weeks later- they are hardy!
