CC Cakes by Corrine

I posted this on my personal page so many of my FB friends would have seen it, now I will share it here. My daughter and I entered a contest to do a cake that was based on the theme resiliency. In all honesty, she was responsible for everything from design to execution. Every part of this cake told some of the true history of First Nations people from beginning with the Gradual Civilization Act of 1857 which sought assimilation; the Indian Act of 1867 which sought complet...e control; the Potlatch Law of 1884 which banned ceremonies; the Sixties Scoop which removed aboriginal children from their families and communities and placed them in non Aboriginal foster homes or adoptions; the Indian Residential Schools saw children forcibly removed from their home and often their hair, which held spiritual significance was cut (this was the single most touching part of this design to me ) So much thought and reflection in this design. I am so proud of the job she did. We didn’t win first place but I can honestly say this was a truly amazing cake......we did make the top ten though . Probably the longest post I have ever written on our page but I did want to show how much thought and creativity went into her masterpiece. So proud of her

***Friendly reminder**** A reminder that we need to finalize our cupcake orders so we can plan for baking and delivery on the 31st. A message was sent to everyone asking for prepayment so we can prepare for this extremely well supported endeavour. Because there are some that did not prepay as requested, we will begin going to our cancellation list in order to meet our fundraising goal . ... A huge thank you to everyone who sent in their etransfers as this makes it so much easier for us to determine who is definitely ordering. Your support is appreciated more than I can begin to say Tomorrow, I will begin sending messages to those who are on the cancellation list in the order of which received them to see if they are still interested.

*****Update ***** we will need to stop taking orders now as we are now at 100 doz. Some may cancel or not follow through with their order which can happen, but I will be sure to notify anyone who wasn’t able to order. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to help my brothers family

Hey CC Cake fans. We are coming out of retirement for a one time thing for a reason that is very near and dear to our heart . My brother has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is fighting the battle of his life. He is unable to work and of course there is a huge financial burden associated with this. He and his wife would never ask for help, but I want to do something to lighten the burden a bit for them. I know there will be many costs ahead with travel, hotels etc s...o I have decided to do one more kick at the can and do a cupcake sale with all profits going directly to my brother. I will be making four different varieties of cupcakes and selling a mixed box at $30/dozen. Each box will have 3 each of the following four varieties -Black Forest -Chocolate salted caramel - Wild Blueberry - Maryanne We will be doing this sale and delivering on July 31st within Prince Albert We will accept preorders as we anticipate a huge response and this will help us prepare for the required amount.
