Earlier this afternoon, Ontario's Minister of Education announced that the March break period will be postponed until April 12 to 16, 2021. This means that Dist...rict operations - including schools - will remain open and will operate according to the regular schedule. The decision was informed by the advice of Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health and public health officials, including consultations with many local Medical Officers of Health. The Minister noted that shifting March break will help to limit opportunities for congregation outside of school during this time. With respect to travel, the government remains adamant that all Ontarians should refrain from travelling, particularly given the increased presence of new variants. Please note that March 12 remains a Board Holiday and students will not have school.
