Most of Chatter Creek’s ski terrain is between 1500m and 2900m (4900ft and 9500ft) above sea level. The higher elevation ensures that the temperatures remain colder, the snow stays light and dry and is ideal for skiing or snowboarding. You get the snow you want and lots of it!

Chatter Creek guides choose where to take guests based on current snow and weather conditions and the ability of the group. We ask that our guests be strong intermediate skiers and boarders. We are pretty excited to be welcoming guests to Chatter Creek this season. Sure, things will look a little different at the lodge, but there’s one thing that will be exactly the same :)

Chatter Creek Community and Guests; Thank you for your patience and loyalty as we work through our operational plans for our 20/21 season. Above all, we're excited to be opening our lodge this winter and bringing guests into Chatter Creek to ski, snowboard and enjoy the beauty of a backcountry experience in the mountains. Of course, there will be some changes this year; the most significant being that Chatter Creek will be hosting a maximum of 30 guests at the lodge each tou...r, and transporting a maximum of 10 guests in each of our snow cats. We have had to make the very difficult decision to operate with only domestic guests for the 20/21 season. We will greatly miss our American, European and other international guests this year, but please know that we're looking forward to welcoming you all back for future seasons. The safety and well being of guests and staff are of the utmost concern for Chatter Creek and we appreciate your understanding. The second major adjustment to this season’s program will be that Chatter Creek will not be running our Small Groups Cat-Skiing or Guided Ski-Touring programs this winter. To ensure that we meet social distancing guidelines, we need to reduce the number of guests in the lodge, so we need to postpone these programs for the 20/21 season. We are so looking forward to welcoming guests this winter and feel incredibly lucky to have such a great team of staff, guests and community. If we are not going to get the opportunity to host you this winter, we are already looking forward to welcoming you back in the 21/22 season!

Precipitation in Golden has been pretty non-stop this fall, which means that early season at Chatter has the potential to be oh-so-sweet. We've got spots open on our second tour of the season (December 10-13) for a three-day cat-ski adventure - book today and start prepping for early season! So how does group cat-skiing work at a backcountry lodge during the Time of COVID-19? Well, we're making it work. First, we're limiting our number of guests at the lodge to 30 at a time to adequately allow for Social Distance. To do the above, we've reduced some operations, including Ski Touring, Small Group Cat-Skiing and some services at the lodge to further allow for Social Distancing.... Second, we've introduced new regulations at the lodge and heli-base regarding masks, spacing, etc. to ensure we're doing everything we can to keep our staff and guests safe. With all of this in mind, we're stoked to be operating our core cat-skiing program this year and pretty excited that we've got spots available to book.
