The long weekend is here! Just a couple reminders...we close Saturday, October 10th at 3pm and reopen Monday, October 12th at 11am. Sunday is a well-deserved day off for our amazing staff! The sunsets here are breathtaking...not to brag. Unfortunately, they are coming earlier and earlier as we creep towards Fall. Since it’s getting darker earlier, we are shortening our Clubhouse hours - ever so slightly. This Friday, September 11, we will be closing at 8pm, just like all the other days of the week. FYI our hours are 11am-8pm Mon to Fri, 9am -8pm on weekends!

The Chester Golf Club is thrilled to share the news that we are preparing for a soft opening of the Clubhouse on Friday, June 5th. At that time, the Clubhouse will offer service through the bar window, only. Services will be offered at the window from 9am to 5pm, daily, except for days with inclement weather. The cart will also be activated June 5th; hours will be weather dependent. Here is what to expect: - Canned beer, caesars, coolers, ciders... - Pop, Gatorade, juice, water - Coffee and tea - Sandwiches and hotdogs - Chips, chocolate bars, peanuts - Assorted baked goods all homemade! We ask that you please respect social distancing regulations. There will be marked areas near the canteen window to ensure safe distances are maintained. At the time of opening, our preferred methods of payment will be credit card, debit, or charge to member house accounts (if they have been activated). We prefer not to take cash if possible, in order to minimize contact. We are very excited to see you all and hope to offer expanded services in the near future. Thank you on behalf of the Management. May 15th, 2020 Good morning from the Chester Golf Club, Yesterday we had some good news we all have been waiting for. The Province of NS under the direction of Public Health has eased the restrictions for golf courses to open. We intend to open as soon as the needed safety precautions are in place. We must wait until then to ensure the safety of all of our members and guests as well as the safety of our employees. You may have noticed in an email this week or on our websi...te today that we have outlined that plan. We are reviewing any further details from Public Health to see what further directives we must abide by. Once we are satisfied that we meet those directives we will announce a start date and release tee times for booking. Hey it’s the Lobster Chowder Chowdown-Showdown and Municipal Market tomorrow! Its happening at the Forest Heights Community School from noon to 4. Come and support this fun community event and enjoy some great chowders.

CGC Employee Curlers! Congratulation’s to our student employee-Curlers who performed amazingly at recent events. At the Canadian Junior Women’s Curling Championship, our very own Taylour Stevens, skip of team Nova Scotia, were Bronze Medalists, after going 8-2 through the preliminary rounds. Graeme Weagle and the Chester Junior Men’s team finished one victory short of the tiebreak round at the Canadian Junior Men’s Curling Championship; and, at the Nova Scotia Tankard, Adam Cocks who plays second on the Matthew Manuel team were edged out by Team Stevens in the first tiebreak game. We are very proud of these young athletes, not only for their wonderful performances on the ice, but also for being great ambassadors for our community and for Chester Golf Club. Well done everyone!

Looks like we’re gonna be closed for snowy Saturday. Reopening tomorrow and Monday is our last day!

The Chester Golf Club Iron Ball Tournament was held on Saturday November 2nd. We had an excellent turnout with 90 Players in total, the weather was fabulous and the winning Player posted a -9. It was a great event and this year we raised approximately $3,000 for the Lighthouse Foodbank in Chester along with the many food donations which were provided by the Players.

The Chester Golf Club is proud to be hosting the Nova Scotia Golf Association MCT Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship. This is a very prestigious championship event attracting some of the best elite players in our Province. The event will take place this week from Friday July 19 through to Sunday July 21. The Clubhouse restaurant will be open as usual and we would recommend you make reservations to avoid disappointment. For information we will be running double draws twice daily a...t 8:30am and 12:30pm with an expected 130 players. Take the opportunity to come down and enjoy some great golf and see our wonderful Golf Club at its finest.

Sunday June 16th is fast approaching, and we have exactly what Dad needs. A round of golf, a delicious meal and some quality time on the links with family. Green Fees for Dad are only $50.00 plus HST on Father's Day. The Pro Shop is also offering a deal for Dad, buy a dozen Titleist ProV1 or Callaway Chrome Soft balls and get a FREE Titleist Ball Cap. Great News Everyone! Power Carts can now go out for the season starting Tuesday, May 7th! Please be aware that there are still some wet areas on the course and you will notice marked off areas to avoid. Please use caution when using carts.

Have you missed us? We've missed you! So we're happy to announce that the Chester Golf Club will be OPENING for the season on WEDNESDAY, MAY 1st @ 10:00! Some notes:... COURSE CONDITIONS: Power Carts must remain in the parked position and the course is being evaluated daily for power cart usage. Pull Carts are available to use. The Driving Range is also in that same predicament and is being evaluated daily. TEE TIMES: Starting TUESDAY @ 9:00 we will be booking tee times over the phone and online for the 2019 season. PRO SHOP HOURS OF OPERATION: Tee Times will start at 8:00 AM from May 2nd-May 15th and then change to 7:30 AM on the 16th to the end of the month. The Pro Shop will be opening starting at 7:30 and will close depending on weather and course activity. Don't forget that our fabulous restaurant is also open for business! Come on down beforehand and grab a great meal! That should just about do it. Welcome to the 2019 golfing season. It’s going to be a long and dry one!

As they say, your events are only as good as the volunteers. We are extremely fortunate to have a group of fantastic, dedicated folks who are so willing to lend a hand to make our tournaments and functions as great as they are. Today, we took the opportunity to thank them with our Volunteer Appreciation day. Golf, food, laughs, more food, and maybe a beverage or two. To everyone who donated their most important resource to us - their time - thank you so much. We couldn't do it without you!

Two absolutely gorgeous days for the Schooner Invitational here at CGC. Some great golf played over the weekend with some very impressive scores. Chester Golf Club would like to wish the best of luck to our very own Mark Chandler as he heads off to Medicine Hat Golf and CC for the Canadian Junior Boys Championship from July 30th to August 2nd. Mark has been working hard and the results have shown with a win earlier this season at the MJT event at Ken-Wo, a 4th place finish at the East Coast Jr in New Brunswick, and a second place overall finish at the NS Jr at Northumberland Links. Tonight was a special and bittersweet evening at Chester Golf Club as we celebrated the occasion of Barb Fraughtons' retirement. As you can see it was a packed house as members, staff both old and new, and family came to pay tribute to this amazing woman. She may not be at the restaurant every day now, but her legacy will last a lifetime. The hard work, long hours, and of course her training of many staff members in our dining room will be remembered fondly. Whether it was s...howing them how to set a table, carry a tray, or how to dance on a table (), she did it all with patience, professionalism, and of course that smile we'll all remember. From all of us - the board, trustees, staff, members, patrons, family - we wish you all the best in your retirement and can't wait to be the ones who serve you for a change! We'll always have a table for you!

We couldn't have asked for a better day for our club's Mixed Two-Ball event! Beautiful sunny skies with enough breeze to keep the players cool and challenged on the course.
