3 days...6 hours...15 players...3 coaches Were so proud of the Girls in Grades 6 - 8 and Grades 9 - 12 who kept bringing more effort and energy over 3 days with Guest Coaches Columbia Bible College Women’s Head Coach Jessica Funk, University of the Fraser Valley Women’s Head Coch Al Tuchscherer, UFV Allstar Deanna Tuchscherer and our very own Kyle Graves. ... Always such a awesome experience for Chilliwack players to get to work with guest coaches especially those who are currently University and College coaches who work with some of BC’s best. Being able to connect with coaches and ask questions and introduce themselves is invaluable to our players. In the 6 hours of training we kept focusing on building our foundation of skills along with a focus on finding our motivation and goals to get better and creating a gap with our competition over the coming months. It was inspirational to see these players have one focus on getting better! We look forward to getting back to work soon with more individual sessions, small group sessions and mentor and camps in the coming month along with announcements soon on fall club team programs. #chilliwack #summer #camp #camplife #basketball #alwaysreppin #chilliwackbasketballclub See more

2 days...10 hours...13 players...2 coaches Were so proud of the boys in Grades 9 - 11 who kept bringing more effort and energy over 2 days as Coach Harp of @3seedtraining pushed them to their mental and physical limits. Always such a awesome experience for Chilliwack players to get to work with guest coaches such as Coach Harp who works with some of BC’s best and also travels around North America working with some of the best players in the... world! In the 10 hours of training we kept focusing on building our foundation of skills along with a focus on finding our motivation and goals to get better and creating a gap with our competition over the coming months. A lot of players in this region are losing sight on their goals and losing motivation to get better and put in the work due to the lack of games and competition. Chilliwack Basketball Club Week Long Girls Spotlight: Kayli Sartori BC Provincial HS Champion & MVP University Allstar & All Canadian at UFV ... National Championship Allstar at UFV European Professional Player Kayli’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: Basketball has always been a huge part of my life. As far back as I can remember I was spending every weekend of my spring and summer sitting in gyms, waiting for my games to start or watching fellow players' games. My life was consumed of basketball. Coming from a small town where there wasn't much opportunity to play club basketball I found myself searching for the perfect match. Fortunately, I found myself around coaches who had just as big a passion as myself. As my career progressed I was able to play at the university level as well as beyond that, playing professionally overseas. Once I returned home from my adventures overseas, I had a huge passion inside me, constantly pushing me to connect to my roots. I know how important development at a young age is for basketball players and I wanted to be able to teach young girls my approach to the game. Luckily for me, right in my home town an amazing program was building and I was fortunate enough to be asked to be a part of it. CBC has given me an amazing opportunity to connect with younger players. It provided me with a chance to teach these girls things that I think have been a huge pillar in my success as a player. I have enjoyed getting in the gym and "getting after it" and sharing my love for basketball with anyone who is willing to learn. I have grown more as a coach in the last two years than I thought I ever would! Once again, I find myself sitting in gyms through out my spring and summer loving the sport just as much as I did when I was younger. I have enjoyed every minute of work that it takes to be a good coach and am so excited to move forward with this program! Thank you CBC for giving me a platform to teach these up and coming stars! Chilliwack Basketball Club Week Long Girls Spotlight: Kylie Kampman Kylie has been instrumental in the growth of our girls program having been our MVP in our first two Girls tournament Championships at the U15 & U17 level. Currently at Unity Christian, Kylie is now entering her Grade 12 year after leading Unity Christian to a Provincial Championship in Volleyball and a Provincial Championship final in Basketball. As a dual sport athlete, Kylie will have the opp...ortunity to play post secondary athletics in whatever sport she chooses. Her story is motivational for younger players, as she shows that coming from a small school you can still get recognized as being one of the best players & athletes in the city and the province. She plays with a determination and fierceness that allows her to lead her teams on the court. Kylie’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: I have been apart of Chilliwack Basketball Club since grade 9. I really enjoyed every season I have played with this club. Coach Kyle gave so many opportunities and hours into putting Chilliwack on the map for players via tournaments and guest coaches. Coach Kyle and Coach Kayli have been two huge contributors to my development as a basketball player during these seasons. They were flexible with training sessions, allowing me to develop my skills when I had a busier schedule. Also, each practice was structured that skills were isolated, then put into game like situations which helped me personally develop my skills to later utilize in games. Thank you Kylie for your dedication to the game and for believing in us! We can’t wait to continue to watch your basketball journey. To all Chilliwack girls basketball players, keep putting in the work! Chilliwack Basketball Club Week Long Girls Spotlight: Azalya Forstbauer Azalya was part of our first ever Girls Club Team program in 2017. Graduating from Sardis Secondary, Azalya is now entering her 3rd year at one of the top Women’s programs in Canada at the University of Calgary. Her story is motivational for younger players, having not been highly recruited until the end of her Grade 12 year, Azalya kept believing in herself and put in the work to get notic...ed! Azalya’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: During the spring of my grade 12 year, I played for Chilliwack Basketball Club under both Coach Kyle and Gina. I give huge amounts of credit to these coaches (and many others) for developing the player I’ve become. I remember we weren’t in many tournaments that spring, but we had such a great group of girls and it was so fun to literally just ball out and bring our skills to a game. As much as basketball is a team sport, Kyle, Gina, as well as Mark Debruyn, dedicated their efforts into developing each players individual skills regardless of their current level. I feel like they believed in me more than I did myself. They put so much work into me and went out of their way to challenge me as a player to make me ready to play at a USports level. I really am so grateful for the coaches at Chilliwack Basketball Club Thank you Azalya for your dedication to the game and for believing in us our first year! Chilliwack Basketball Club Week Long Girls Spotlight: Kyleigh Boldt Kyleigh was part of our Club for 3 years and was one of the first elite girls players to travel from Abbotsford to be a part of our program. Currently in Grade 12 at Yale Secondary, Kyleigh has signed with University of the Fraser Valley to continue her basketball career. Kyleigh was and is one of the fiercest competitors we have ever coached and had no trouble playing U17 competition in her Gr...ade 9 spring season. Whether it was diving for loose balls or locking up as a defender full court, Kyleigh is an example for younger girls players that it is ok to play all out all the time. This dedication paid off in her high school career with her Yale Senior team making a historic run finishing 3rd in AAAA along with other former CBC players Lily Borseth and Julie Dueck. Kyleigh is just another example of a player who set a goal and did whatever it took to accomplish her dreams of playing Post Secondary basketball! Kyleigh’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: Some of my best club season memories are with the Chilliwack Basketball Club. Coach Jason Borseth and Coach Mark Debruyn made it so fun that sometimes we forgot how hard we were actually working. We were always pushed hard and put into higher divisions which helped develop our game and our confidence. Practices were always super challenging and we had many oportunities to learn from other coaches/players in the basketball community. The friendships I made through Chilliwack Basketball Club have kept with me throughout all of highschool and I am grateful for the 3 seasons I had with the Chilliwack Basketball Club. Thank you Kyleigh for your dedication to the game and for believing in us! We can’t wait to continue to watch your basketball journey. Graduating from Sardis Secondary, Josi is now entering her 3rd year at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna. She continues to give back to the game as a coach at CBC camps. Her story is motivational for younger players, as her love and desire for the game led her to taking any opportunity to get in ...the gym to get better. Her lack of height, was and is made up by her heart, leadership, and work ethic which allowed her to get recruited at the end of her Grade 12 year. She is an example, that if you work on your game and set a goal, you can accomplish great things in Basketball. Josi’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: Words can not describe how grateful I am to be part of the alumni of Chilliwack Basketball Club. Coach Gina Graves and Kyle Graves have both helped me develop, not only as a player, but as an individual. Gina helped develop my game from a young age and has not only been a trusted coach but a friend off the court. I also had the opportunity to work with her brother, Kyle who developed my team understanding and my one on one skill development and he really helped me with my shot. On top of this Chilliwack Basketball Club has given me many opportunities to create memories and friendships that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you Josi for your dedication to the game and for believing in us our first year! To all Chilliwack girls basketball players, keep putting in the work! Chilliwack Basketball Club Week Long Girls Spotlight: Olivia Lounsbury Olivia has been a part of our Club for 2 years and was one of the first elite girls players in Chilliwack to begin training with Coach Kyle. Currently in Grade 12 at Unity Christian, Olivia has signed with Camosun University to play basketball next year in Victoria. Olivia has been a part of Chilliwack Basketball Club’s U17 team the last two spring/summer seasons and has always been one of t...he most dedicated and motivated players in Chilliwack. Whether it was early sessions at the Cheam or staying behind for extra shots after practice. She is just another example of a Chilliwack player who set a goal and did whatever it took to accomplish her dreams of playing Post Secondary basketball! Olivia’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: I started playing CBC almost 3 years ago. I began just training with Kyle and he always made me work. When I started to slow down he’d push me more because he knew what I was capable of. He was a coach that strongly believed I was capable of playing post secondary. I decided to tryout for his girls team and I was lucky enough to be selected. During that time I was coached by Mark Debruyn Jason Borseth and Coach Kyle. We went into various tournaments and even traveled to Las Vegas. Those were some of my favorite Summer memories as the team and the competition made it so enjoyable. The following year I was asked to play again and I was so excited to hear that Kayli would be coaching us. Before Kayli would just come and work with us at practices and I always looked up to her. She’s a hard worker and wanted nothing but the best for our team. Sadly I was taken out of the season because of a concussion, but the whole time Kayli stayed connected. She was always checking up on me and making sure I knew I was still apart of the team. Kayli taught me its okay to be competitive and how to really want it. I’m so thankful for all the coaches that coached me during my time in Chilliwack basketball and I can’t wait to represent the team in my years to come. Thank you Olivia for your dedication to the game and for believing in us!

Currently at GW Graham, Sydney is now entering her Grade 12 year as the teams starting PG and one of the most talented yet hardest workers in Chilliwack. She has set her goal of playing University basketball and backs it up ...by looking for opportunities to play against the best in B.C. by playing for B.C. United this summer. She is one of the few players we work with who is willing to ask questions at any time on how to get better and is willing to put in the work behind the scenes when no one is watching. Her story is motivational for younger players, as her love and desire for the game led her to taking any opportunity to get in the gym to get better. She is an example for younger Chilliwack girls players that it’s ok to chase after your dreams and love the game of basketball. Sydney’s statement about Chilliwack Basketball Club: Being a part of CBC’s family transformed my game. Coach Kyle has been a huge part of my life and my game would be no where near where it is today without his guidance. Over one summer he completely changed me as a player and 3 years later he continues to push me to be the best. Coach Kyle is the first person I go to when I have a great game or big news and the first person I go to when I’ve had a rough patch and need help getting through it. I’m proud to be a part of CBC’s family and call it my club home. Thank you Sydney for your dedication to the game and for believing in us! We can’t wait to continue to watch your basketball journey.
