We have some exciting news! Each Wednesday, we will be sharing the story of an inspiring woman who represents what it means to be working in the sectors that CLAC represents. First up is Nicole Gaulton, a recent graduate of the Women Building Futures (WBF) Journeywoman Start Program, which offers training and affordable housing for women looking to enter the construction, maintenance, and driving industries. From blueprint reading to welding, WBF exposed Nicole to previously... unexplored job paths. In fact, she recently accepted a role as an electrical apprentice. I really like seeing a blank canvas (or worksite) and watching the end result being built, she explains. You see all the work and details that are involved in creating a structure. I also really enjoy learning about all the tools and equipment and being able to use them myself. You can read more about Nicole and WBF in the December 2020 issue of the Guide, landing in members’ mailboxes soon. Have a suggestion for #womenwednesday? Message us your nominationwe look forward to hearing about all the great work the women of CLAC are doing across the country!
