We are looking for Trail Advocates for the Roberts Creek trail network that are passionate about providing up-to-date info on trail conditions and would like to do light maintenance. Basic duties include: -Inspect a few designated trails bi-monthly -Do light pruning, clear trails of debris and pick up litter -Submit Trail Reports and advise RC Trail Directors of any maintenance (beyond clearing of debris) that is needed ... Sprockids Volunteers are needed. We’re looking for Trail Captains! Being a trail captain means monitoring the trails in Sprockids and doing minor maintenance on designated trails. Sunshine Coast Riders: On May 14, the majority of BC's Provincial Parks will reopen for day use. This includes all of the CMBTA trails on the Sunshine Coast as these can safely accommodate physical distancing. Please follow the provincial safety guidelines as they continue to evolve. Thinking about Travelling to the Coast? At this time, the Provincial government has made it clear that all non-essential travel should be avoided. Now is not the time to be vacationing or making a day trips to mountain bike on the Sunshine Coast. BC Ferries and local governments are all echoing this sentiment. To our friends and partners in mountain biking, Getting out on the trails is tremendously valuable. Trails bring us together, but to keep each other safe, we must keep our distance. How can our community navigate this challenge? First and foremost, refer to Vancouver Coastal Health and the BCCDC for best practice and guidance as well as guidelines in your community. Then, as appropriate, cautiously take advantage of trails and outdoor spaces unless you are feeling ill. We... will all benefit from fresh air. Should mountain bikers host group rides or trail work days? Cancel, postpone or reschedule upcoming events including races, trail work, and group rides until there are new government directives. For now, let’s ride in very small groups, keep our distance, and enjoy our trails close to home to minimize the risks associated with car travel. How can trail users pass responsibly with social distance? Stay alert, slow down, and communicate with each other from a distance about how to proceed. With gyms and rec centers closing, there may be new users on the trails. It’s a great time for community education on responsible riding and for being patient, exemplary stewards. CMBTA will be postponing the next trail days and will send an update as soon as we can start to move forward again. Thank you all for your support and understanding during these challenging times. We look forward to digging again together soon! Solo trail maintenance is encouraged.

We had a great time helping @coastgravityprk with their new DH course! CGP is hosting a BC Cup DH race on May 3rd! This is a great opportunity to showcase our local riding and community as a whole. The dedicated builders at CGP have created an amazing bike park but they are also some of our most prominent builders outside the bike park. Thanks for everything you’re doing to grow the sport on the Coast and for being great @coastmountainbiketrails members/sponsors!
