Today, as we celebrate #internationalwomensday2020 we’d like to introduce you the women of our Conwest Crew! Gabby is one of our #conwestcrew women on site, and we caught up with her to find out why she continues to work in the construction field: I work in the construction industry because I enjoy being a part of all the phases leading up to the completion, and to know I contributed. As a woman in the industry it makes me proud to know and say that women, as well as men, br...ing tools to the table and expertise. Thanks for being a part of our team Gabby! Who says we don’t have fun here? On Friday, February 21st, @conwestcontracting and @ventanaconstruction got together for some friendly ice time. While both teams fought valiantly, Ventana ultimately reined victorious, in a 7-4 win against our #conwestcrew A big thank you to Ventana for arranging the game, @cityofpoco Community Centre for the ice time, @kerrsrecognition for the jerseys, and of course our Conwest Crew for taking on the challenge!... We had a great time, and look forward to the opportunity for a re-match.

Back in December of 2019, Conwest Contracting Ltd. carried out the excavation and shoring for the prestigious Houss project for Conwest Developments. It was a challenging excavation to a depth of 30 ft, through dense sandstone with the project presenting our Conwest Crew with several unique challenges to overcome. These included: shallow gas lines to be avoided when drilling shore anchors, adequately supporting neighbouring buildings on either side of the excavation site and hauling our 30-tonne excavator out of the site on the final day of the project. Well done to the Crew for completing this project on time and maintaining community relations in this highly developed area despite the many challenges faced!

Our Conwest Crew was delighted to spend the evening of November 5th at the 44th annual Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of BC Gala! Al, Brian, Ross, Steve, Rob, Landon, Tom, Asiah, Nat and Ted (L to R) enjoyed an evening of dinner, drinks, desserts and connecting with other ICBA members. They rounded off the night listening to NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, as he spoke about his career in football, and the NFL today.... A big Conwest thank you to ICBA president Chris Gardner, and the rest of the association for a wonderful event!

Our Conwest Crewstache boys are hard at work growing out their mustaches for the Movember movement! If you didn't know, Movember is an organization dedicated to finding solutions to men's health. This Remembrance Day, Conwest is proud to honour all Veterans, past and present. To our Conwest Crew Veterans, we humbly thank you for your years of service. We will be closed Monday, November 11th, in observance of Remembrance Day. We will re-open on Tuesday, November 12th, for our regular working hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

A look into Conwest Contracting's work on Johnson Street in Coquitlam. Scope includes upgraded civil underground services for a 76 unit Aalto town home project, construction of 28 sets of cast in-place concrete stairs and trail, installation of Hydro, Telus, and Shaw infrastructure, and bulk excavation, shoring, and anchors for Finnish care home.

Conwest Contracting can be found working on the George townhome site in Port Moody with remediation of Dallas Creek. Scope of work includes extensive bulk excavation, installation of 1,200 corrugated culvert under St. George Street, installation of MSE wall, and upgraded civil underground services for the George development project.

Conwest Contracting has been working in the West Coquitlam neighborhood at the Wynwood Green site. Scope includes 45,000 cubic meters of bulk excavation, installation of shoring anchors and shotcrete, and extensive de-watering operations.

Upgraded civil underground services completed by Conwest Contracting for the new Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre. Services include installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, Hydro, Telus, and Shaw infrastructure.
