Here we go again! Centre Bowl is closed for 2 weeks with the forced shutdown from Level 5 again. An update will be posted within 2 weeks. Let’s hope we beat this virus again and everyone does what they are supposed to do. Stay safe everyone. Hope to see you again first week of March. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and pray for the best!

Good afternoon to all of our Patrons and bowler family. Our Pioneer Ladies League is cancelled for tonight to make sure we have all of information gathered and in line for covid-19. According to our contact with the Department of Health we can still operate as normal with our leagues and open bowling. We may only need to make arrangements for one of our leagues. We know everyone is worried about Covid-19 but we want to ensure that all of our customers know that all protocol...s are done and as everyone knows there is no cleaner place to go than Centre Bowl. If any of our customers have been in St John’s the past couple of weeks please refrain from our leagues or Open Bowling for two weeks unless you have already been cleared by 811. COVID-19 never gave us an opportunity to say congrats and happy graduation to these two YBC Bowlers who came up through the ranks from the peewee division to the senior division. Ryan Hobbs and Alan Hoven have been great individuals, great friends, great teammates and great inspirations and examples for our fellow bowlers for many years. Sorry to see you guys graduate and having to leave us but we wish you the very best in your future endeavours, careers, schooling and especially future bowling aspirations! Congratulations to Cameron Hynes winning a Bronze medal for the 2019 to 2020 YBC Junior Boys Division for highest three game series. Also A big congratulations to Paige House for winning a bronze medal with her team for last year‘s YBC Junior Division. Great bowling!

A big congratulations this year to Brooklyn Stride, the winner of the Toots Best Most Outstanding Player award for Centre Bowl for the 2019 to 2020 YBC season. Mary Toots Best was best known for her commitment and enthusiasm with the Pioneer Ladies Thursday night league. Toots was the mother of Doreen Pardy who donated the award many years ago in memory of her mom. Brooklyn had a great year with a bronze medal for the highest score in a game, gold medal for the highest... three game series and the gold medal for the highest average. Brooklyn also won the provincial YBC Junior girl division award and was going to represent Newfoundland and Labrador and Centre bowl at YBC Nationals that were cancelled due to COVID-19. Thanks for all the great bowling, enthusiasm and commitment to the game of bowling Brooklyn! Doreen Pardy was present to congratulate Brooklyn for her prestigous award! See more

Congratulations to Kevin MacKenzie for winning the 2019 to 2020 most sportsmanship award donated by the Saunders family in memory of Brian Canning, son of Roberta and Michael Canning. Brian was a YBC bowler for many years who represented Centre bowl at Nationals and Provincials at many tournaments. Thank you to Mike and Roberta Canning pictured below for enabling us to present this prestigious award each year.

Our final week of Summer Camp for this year! Thank you all so much for joining us this summer for a very different camp than we’re used to! Between all of the Covid-19 questions every morning to all of the different regulations no one is used to yet, thank you for your patience and understanding! Hey all YBC bowlers and parents! Lots of safety precautions taken at Centre Bowl so please feel safe when you come in for registration day next Saturday! Protocols have changed but we will all follow safety rules for now to keep everyone safe! Sure will be great to see all of our youth bowlers again! Bring your friends for registration day to see if they would like to join this year! Have a free game on us when you come in for registration!

Hope you all enjoyed your summer! YBC registration day will be Saturday, September 12th. Registration will take place between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm for all groups. It has been a different year with COVID-19 but we will be bringing back a sense of normalcy for the kids again! There will be some precautions in place in regards to Government restrictions but overall it should still prove to be a great experience for everyone. We have to keep everyone’s best and safest interests in mind. Don’t forget you are required to wear your masks in to the alley. See you all then. WOW!! Another great day of bowling at the alley! OUR CAMPERS ROCK! Our 4 year old camper Nathan made an Ace/Spare which is a hard shot to make! Amazing!
