White Christmas for Gold River! Big flakes are coming down now and it is sticking to the trees. This is a view of the river.
One of our favorite fishermen has a day job flying for Air Canada, and he took this photo of Nootka from above on his way over a few days ago. Thanks Peter!

They have come inside - so now fish both inside and out. Hoiss Point and the Lighthouse were the hot spots yesterday. We have had a cabin room become available starting tomorrow night for 6 nights if you can make a short notice trip.

view from Critter right now... FULL RAINBOW.
It is our shakedown special days here so Bryce has been trained at the Scotty plant to help fishermen here with getting their downriggers ready for the season. We are also filling 3 reels with Maxima ultra green line per shakedown special room. Big thank you to our friends at Trotac in Victoria for loaning us their spooler, and to our expert line spooler John Beckett.
Off to a great start. Jack an Jill winner was Carrie Armstrong with a 33 pounder and second place was Mia Kenny with a 29. A 40 pounder was brought to the dock today and everyone seemed to be catching fish. I missed the 40 before it was cleaned but it is the big one on dock amongst others here. Flat calm out front for perfect fishing conditions.
Big thanks to BC Ferries for their new discounted trailer fares
We don’t know about you, but we’re sure ready for summer to get here. Can’t beat a February freight run.
